    • A process for forming elongated vehicle doors includes the steps of removing the sheet metal skin from the existing door, severing the door substructure into two portions and inserting appropriately sized extension sections into the door substructure. A new elongated skin is contoured to match the side of the vehicle body and is cut to the shape of the elongated door. The new skin is placed in an adjustable mold fixture and end flange portions are hammered over the mold. The adjustable mold includes two lower portions which are contoured and configured to simulate the underlying door substructure, and two upper mold portions similarly contoured and configured, which are clamped to the lower mold portions with the new skin between the upper and lower mold portions. The molds are kirksite molds made directly from components of the door, and adjusting the spacing between the mold portions permits the manufacture of skins of different lengths to go on doors of different lengths.

    • A dental material and method for forming, reinforcing or repairing a dental restoration comprising a combination of a high fusing temperature metal component in a major proportion and a low fusing temperature component in a minor proportion. A binder may be added to form a putty-like consistency. The dental material is molded into a predetermined shape and heat treated at a temperature which will substantially melt the low fusing metal components but below the melting temperature of the high fusing metal component for forming a porous, sponge-like mass of interconnected particles of the high fusing temperature metal component. A filler material having a low melting temperature is then added to the porous mass and the mass is again treated to form a solid mass.

    • A process for repairing a hydraulic line having a damaged end section. The damaged end section is severed from the line and a male or female coupling member is formed in the new end. This is accomplished by reducing the wall thickness by increasing the inside diameter (female coupling member) or decreasing the outside diameter (male coupling member). A tubular tip is provided having a major portion the same length as the severed section and an end portion that is an extension of the major portion with a reduced wall thickness forming a male or female coupling member opposite that formed in the end of the tube. Coupling is achieved to regenerate the end section with a consistent inside and outside diameter along the tube and across the coupling intersection.

    • A method and apparatus for rebuilding vehicle axles permits rapid repair at the failure site. The method comprises the steps of removing the damaged terminal portion of the axle including threads and bearing surfaces, boring a concentric cylindrical cavity within the axle, cutting radially oriented passages in the axle wall which intersect the cavity, providing a replacement terminal axle portion, and inserting the terminal axle portion into the cavity and securing the replacement axle portion into the axle by weldments or other suitable means. The rebuilding apparatus includes a substantially conventional boring machine having specially configured mounting components which facilitate securement of the apparatus to various axle structures.

    • Breaks in the lining of a protectively lined reactor vessel are repaired without introducing unwanted electrical paths through the vessel. Specifically, the breaks are repaired using a plug comprising an insulated anchor stud anchored into the portion of the metal support wall underlying the break; a sealing gasket disposed on the portion of the protective lining surrounding the break; a washer disposed outside the sealing gasket; and a clamping arrangement mechanically coupling the washer and the anchor stud for clamping the gasket onto the protective lining throughout a path surrounding the break. In preferred embodiments, the insulating stud is a threaded cylindrical stud anchored into the wall by threading into a correspondingly threaded aperture, the sealing gasket is a corrosion-resistant, insulating plastic material such as a fluorocarbon, the washer is concave with respect to the gasket and filled with insulating cement, and the clamping arrangement is either a nut threadedly engaged to the insulating stud or a nut in combination with a second stud attached to the first. Reactor vessels using such repair plugs can utilize dip tubes of dissimilar metal without premature deterioration.
