摘要： The present disclosure relates to riveting apparatuses, riveting devices, and methods for their use. An example riveting apparatus includes a pneumatically operated riveting tool having a working end for squeezing a rivet. The riveting apparatus includes a support bracket connected to the riveting tool proximate the working end, the support bracket having arms projecting on each side of the riveting tool. The riveting apparatus also includes a pair of spaced-apart edge rollers coupled to the support arms. The edge rollers are configured to rollably engage an edge of a work-piece so as to support the weight of the riveting tool and enable movable adjustment of the working end relative to the work-piece. The riveting apparatus includes a handle rotatably mounted to the riveting tool to enable axial rotation of the handle, the handle having an actuatable switch configured to selectively operate the riveting tool.

摘要： A method and apparatus for forming rivet joints that allow pivotal motion of the parts interconnected by such joints with a desired amount of clearance. Parts to be riveted together are aligned with each other and held in place on a parts support anvil, and a rivet is placed into aligned holes. A rivet support anvil is positioned against the head of the rivet to establish an initial condition. The rivet support is adjusted a required amount with respect to the parts support anvil prior to formation of the second head on the opposite end of the rivet. The rivet is allowed to move a controlled amount prior to formation of the second head, to provide the desired amount of clearance.

摘要： In a rivet setting tool for setting blind rivets, a passage extends from the mouthpiece of the tool rearwardly through the head of the tool, for removing rivet pins which have been torn off after the rivets have been set. An axially operative setting device which can be actuated for the rivet-upsetting operation includes a piston cylinder system comprising a pneumatically operated piston and a hydraulic piston, and a compressed air feed means for actuation of the setting device and for removal of the torn-off rivet pins. The tool is operated by an actuating member which can be moved into first and second operating positions, in the first of which the actuating member opens a valve associated with the passage, for introducing compressed air into the passage for sucking in a rivet to be set, while in the second operating position the actuating member opens a valve associated with the pneumatic piston for actuating the setting device for the rivet setting operation.

摘要： A rivet setting tool comprises a feed device which can be actuated for a rivet upsetting operation and which imparts an axial movement to the rivet pin. The feed device includes a piston-cylinder assembly formed by a working piston and a pressing piston. A trigger is arranged to apply pressure to a control valve rod which by its movement opens and closes communicating openings for a pressure fluid in the tool. The trigger is movable in a plane which is inclined with respect to the axis of the control valve rod and when actuated comes into sliding contact by means of a lower rearward edge with an upper end face of the control valve rod to displace it axially.

摘要： A rivet setting tool having a feed mechanism which can be actuated for a rivet setting operation and which imparts an axial movement to a screwthreaded or tensile pin. The feed mechanism comprises a piston cylinder assembly formed by a working piston and a pressing piston. Both pistons are returned to their initial positions by pressure fluid being conducted to the rear sides thereof, thus avoiding the use of return springs acting on the pistons. To provide that effect, a pressure fluid passage extends from the pressure fluid inlet through the handle portion of the tool to a rearward chamber provided behind the working piston and defined at one side thereof by the rearward face of the piston, thereby to urge the working piston towards its initial position, while a further communication urges the pressing piston also towards its initial position.

摘要： A portable self-piercing riveting system includes a pneumatically driven driver which forces a self-piercing rivet through a workpiece. An anvil carried on a pivotal clamp is moved into operative alignment with the driver on the blind side of the workpiece to receive and set a rivet. The clamp is part of a linkage mechanism which moves the anvil into and out of operative position. When the anvil is in an operative position to receive and set a rivet, the linkage mechanism is in a locked position whereby the impactive force received by the anvil is not transmitted to an actuator for the linkage mechanism.
