    • A powered bending tool comprises a portable drive housing including a handle and having a powered drive gear. A bracket is secured to the housing defining a pivot connection spaced from the drive gear. A driven gear is pivotally connected to the bracket at the pivot connection and operatively engages the drive gear. A center guide is connected to the bracket at the pivot connection. A support is operatively connected to the bracket at one side of and spaced from the pivot connection. An arm has a near end pivotally connected to the bracket at the pivot connection and a distal end having an arm guide at another side of the pivot connection relative to the guide. The arm is selectively engeagable by the driven gear to be rotated therewith. In use, a rod is positioned below the center guide and above the arm guide and a support, and the drive gear drives the driven gear to pivot the arm so that the arm guide deforms the rod as it engages the center guide at a bend point.

    • A wire bending device includes a bending head bearing two bending tools between which the wire to be bent is passed. Either tool is alternately capable of being fixed or being a pivot for rotation of the bending head therearound. The device also includes a mechanical device for feeding the wire axially in one direction or another; a mechanical device for rotatably driving the bending tools, in two different directions, about an axis of either bending tool; and a mechanical device for shifting the bending tools in a plane perpendicular to the axis about which the bending tools can rotate. There can be calculating controller for managing simultaneously the operation of the mechanical devices, so that the movements generated by the wire and bending tools are superposed.

    • The present fabrication apparatus includes pivotable die blocks and a stationary half-moon male die for bending re-rods. Front inner portions of the pivotable die blocks bring over-center pressure on a bent rod so as to control the tendency of a bent rod to spread after removal from the die blocks. The pivotable die blocks are mounted in a housing with a threaded pin connector for drawing the pivotable die blocks toward and away from each other to adjust the housing to bend rods to a variety of radii. The housing further includes upper and lower plates sandwiching each of the pivotable die blocks. Parallel ridges are formed in confronting surfaces of the upper plate and a transverse bar to increase the capability of the transverse bar to prevent the housing from being spread apart as a rod is being bent.

    • In order to allow an adjusting of the bending tools to a given diameter of the wire being bent allowing the producing of the requisite bending radius a central mandrel which forms two bending or forming, respectively, jaws is replaceable together with a shearing tool. To this end a hollow shaft is mounted at the rear of the central mandrel, which shaft is mounted to a supporting shaft by means of a screw joint. The supporting shaft is supported in turn rotationally and can be rotated by means of a motor in order to disconnect the central mandrel. By mentioned rotation the screw joint is released. A special coupling of the shearing tool to an axially movable operating shaft allows a simultaneous disconnecting of the shearing tool together with the central mandrel. A bending mandrel is mountable at locations having various radial distances from the central mandrel. A cover plate provided with a position control element operates together with proximity switches such that two defined initial angular positions of the bending mandrel is maintained independently from mentioned adjustments.

The invention is characterized in that the stock guide apparatus (5) is tranversally movable forward and backward to push the stock material (2) out of the bending plane, to disengage it from the bending apparatus (4) or to recall the stock material to re-engage it with the respective bending apparatus (4) and to shear it in connection with a countershear (6) after the stock material (2) has completed a stirrup.
