    • An actively ventilated vehicle seat includes a lower air-impermeable seat cushion or backrest part, an air-permeable intermediate layer made of a spacer fabric and an upholstered cover. The vehicle seat is divided into upholstered areas which are delimited from each other by seams anchored at the air-impermeable seat cushion. Air bridges are provided which extend transversely to the seams for connecting the intermediate layer between the individual upholstered areas. An unobstructed seat ventilating system and a permanently secure attachment of the seams are achieved in a simple manner in terms of production and without affecting the seating comfort in that the air bridges are integrated all around into the air-impermeable seat cushion and the seams are anchored above the air bridges in the air-impermeable material of the upholstered part covering the air bridges.

    • A method for forming decorative creases in a trim cover assembly for an automotive seat, which basically involves using one unitary sheet of base trim cover assembly and effecting a gather sewing to such base trim cover assembly so that at least one decorative crease is formed therein in a fashion developing symmetrically relative to the sewing direction. The resulting decorative crease may be deepened for more aesthetic effect by pinching and sewing a part of reverse side of the trim cover assembly corresponding to the crease, along the sewing direction. Also, an automotive seat with the trim cover assembly made by such method.

    • An adjustable cushion support device for adjusting the holding pressure applied to support a seat cushion. The adjustable support device includes a frame member having a first end and a second end to support the cushion. A spring member is mounted on the frame member between the first end and the second end for flexibly supporting a load. A control mechanism is mounted on the frame member and is connected to the spring member for adjusting the holding pressure applied to the spring member. The control mechanism includes an enforcing member pivotally supported on the frame member for pushing the spring member upwards, a biasing member for biasing the enforcement member, and an operating lever to control the inclination of the biasing member to regulate the holding pressure applied to the spring member.

    • Upholsterable base for seating furniture comprises a plurality of very low-density and light-weight foam panels including a pair of upright arm-panels and at least one intervening-panel wherein inter-panels angularity is maintained with opposed "angleiron-type" stiffener connections provided by flexible fabric sheeting adhered to the meeting foam panels.
