摘要： A sofa system includes a unitary perimetric baseframe including a front panel, a rear panel and opposing side panels. The system also includes a hollow back portion having front and rear edges and an integral internal rigid frame, the back portion rotationally mounted between the side panels and to the rear panel by rear longitudinal hinge elements secured between said rear edge of a top portion and the rear panel. The system also includes a unitary seat portion having a front and rear edge and a rigid base, in which the seat portion is rotationally mounted between the side panels and to the front panel by a front longitudinal hinge element that is secured between the front edge of the rigid base of the seat portion and the front panel. Arms may, if desired, be rotationally mounted to the sides of the baseframe.

A frame with a curved ladder back form has a long straight part which fits under the cushions of a seat. The curved portion of the ladder back form extends from the long part outwardly and around the seat cushion. Thereafter, a short straight part of the ladder back form rises from the curved part to receive and support an arm cushion. A plurality of different cushions may be substituted for each other to change the overall appearance of the device including the seat cushion.

摘要： The invention concerns a drop-end mechanism for chairs and settees, particularly fully upholstered articles. The mechanism comprises an extension member fitted to the frame of the dropend, a stay pivotally connected between the extension member and the frame of the chair and a cam track to guide the end of the extension member as the drop-end is raised and lowered. A particular feature of the invention is that as the drop-end is lowered it moves inwardly relative to the seat to prevent any gap between the seat and drop-end upholstery when in the dropped position. The drop-end is supported from below and, in a preferred arrangement, can be set in an intermediate position.
