    • A fixture for drilling a pocket hole in a working face of workpieces of different thicknesses is a U-shaped member having a guide leg and a clamp leg parallel to each other and joined together at a bottom end of each by a transverse base leg. An angled guide channel is in the guide leg that has an entrance for a drill bit on an exterior part of the guide leg and an exit on an interior face which opposes the workpiece working face. A plurality of horizontal elongated ribs are spaced vertically apart on the guide leg interior below the guide channel exit and there is a shelf having a face on which a second face of the workpiece that is transverse to the working face is to rest and that has an edge with a plurality of horizontal vertically spaced ribs to inter-engage with the ribs on said guide leg. A screw extends outwardly from the shelf to extend through a slot in the guide leg and a nut fastens the screw against the guide leg to hold opposing ribs of the guide leg and shelf inter-engaged. Selection of the point of inter-engagement of the ribs sets the height of the shelf support for the workpiece relative to the drill guide channel exit.

    • An improved simple inclined-hole drilling jig comprises a jig body having a crossover plane at the bottom that can evenly press against the wood workpiece, and a beveled end member at the front. The beveled end member is concavely disposed with a guiding shaft hole, which extends downwardly from the beveled end member through the crossover plane. The upper end of guiding shaft hole is pivotally configured with a guide bushing for drill bit to pass through. The rear end and side surfaces of jig body are respectively formed with a reference face and sidewalls perpendicular to the crossover plane; where the sidewall is at least concavely disposed with a dust guide groove intercrossing the guiding shaft hole, and is pivotally disposed with a graduated extension board in a manner that allows axial displacement and positioning. The end of the extension board is bent to form a retaining end plane parallel to the reference face to extendingly adjust the axle spread of reference face, thereby greatly enhancing the operating performance of the simple drill jig.

    • A hole placement guide adapted for marking and/or drilling hole locations at chosen positions in workpieces, and an elongated extension member for attaching to the hole placement guide in numerous positions, such that hole positions interior to the workpiece surface which cannot otherwise be accessed by the present hole placement guide can be marked and/or drilled, are described. The guide includes a marker and/or drill bit guide adapted to slide in a rotatable slot which permits all locations within a circle defined by the rotatable slot to be marked and/or drilled. In use, the present hole placement guide may be positioned at the corner of a drawer or door and the marker and/or drill guide adjusted in the slot to a desired hole position to be marked and/or drilled. The chosen location may then be transferred to other drawers and doors, as examples of workpieces, by positioning the hole placement guide at the same corner of another drawer or door. In the event that the desired location cannot be accessed by the marker and/or drill guide, the elongated extension member may be reversibly secured at numerous locations on the hole location guide, and a second slidable marker and/or drill guide adapted to be moved along the extension may be moved to the chosen location.

    • A pocket-hole drilling apparatus for drilling pocket-holes in a workpiece is disclosed. In one embodiment, an initiation switch actuates clamping the workpiece and the movement of a drilling module to cut a pocket-hole. The drilling module has a motor and a step-drill mounted thereon, which is slidably mounted on a guide module. The axis of the drilling module movement intersects work surface. In another embodiment, a movable fence provides the adjustability of pocket-hole depth. In yet another embodiment, two actuator tips are disposed in a fence to prevent the drilling of a pocket-hole through the sidewall of a workpiece. In still another embodiment, a short stroke clamping actuator is used to prevent human finger injury. In still another embodiment, a blower or an ejector pump is used to remove wood chips, wherein the blower is either attached to a drilling motor or to a separate blower motor; the ejector pump is mounted near the drill guide. In still another embodiment, two pocket-drills are slidably mounted on a block so as to drill two pocket-holes and to adjust pocket-hole spacing. In still another embodiment, a mounting structure is disposed either underneath or above the work surface to mount drilling module(s) so as to drill multiple pocket-holes into a wide workpiece at one setup. In still another embodiment, a drill guide forms a clearance for the cutting edges of the step-drill to minimize wear on the edges. In a further embodiment, an actuator provides both clamping and drilling movements, wherein the actuator is an electric motor or a hand lever.

    • There is described an apparatus and a fixture used in determining position and for producing assembling holes in a spectacle lens for rimless spectacles. The assembling holes are intended for receiving a U-shaped bracket which is used in fastening bridge and side bar hinge. The apparatus and fixture includes interacting guide pins and guide holes. These guide holes/pins are unambiguously disposed. The guide holes will preferably be placed symmetrically in relation to a hole center line for the lens, when this is placed in the fixation opening of the fixture with the hole center line disposed opposite to markings at the fixation opening. The assembling holes are thus placed symmetrically in relation to the marking. By such a system it is possible to make rimless spectacles that appear very accurate, without special skilled qualifications on the part of the optician to make assembling holes in the lenses.
