Regions of the hollow component may be thinner and the thinner regions may be configured to heat more quickly than the remaining thicker regions. The thinner and thicker regions of the component may allow even heating of the component to be achieved.

A compressive force accordingly acts on the heat-resistant metal member undergoing thermal expansion toward the outer periphery, enabling efficient regenerative heat treatment to be performed on the heat-resistant metal member suffering from creep damage, while restraining thermal expansion in the direction toward the outer periphery of the heat-resistant metal member.
