摘要： A solenoid electromagnet includes a movable core spaced from a fixed core, a spring urging the movable core away from the fixed core, an operation rod having a plurality of detent projections, a picker having an axially fixed connection with the movable core, and a catch having an axially fixed connection with the fixed core. The operation rod is slidably inserted in the movable core, and the picker as well as the catch is engageable with the detent projections of the rod. The stroke of the movable core causes the picker to push the operation rod by the engagement of the picker with the detent projection. At the same time the catch engages the detent projection to hold the operation rod at its position, thereby enabling successive advancement of the operation rod according to the strokes of the movable core.

An electromagnetic relay 5 is provided with an electromagnetically releasable latching device 7 arranged to retain the armature assembly 41-45 in the energized position; both the relay 5 and device 7 are also manually operable by push buttons 69, 95. The relay 5 and device 7 each have a moulded plastics casing secured to a metal chassis 9, 13, the latter being secured together by a screw 105. The device 7 has a rectilinearly movable armature 81 secured to an inverted U-shaped insulating member 95 the depending legs of which co-operate with arms 115 of a pivoted latch 109. The relay 5 has a rectilinearly movable armature 35 carried by a moulded insulating member 41 carrying spring biased bridging contacts 49 in apertures 47. The latch 109 has portions 125, which co-operate with surfaces A3, A4 of member 41 to retain the contacts closed, and further portions 127 which co-operate with lateral faces of member 41 to retain the latch in its released condition while member 41 is in its upper position.
