摘要： Embodiments of the invention provide an approach for creating, evolving and using a weighted semantic graph to manage and potentially identify certain information assets within an enterprise. The semantic graph may be generated by monitoring users navigating through search results which provide a set of information assets responsive to a search query. By recording the navigation path taken by many users, relationships between information assets may be identified. Further, once generated, the semantic graph may be used to present users with in indication of related information assets as part of the search results. Further still, the semantic graph may also be used to identify information assert “hubs” as well as information assets that may provide low utility to individuals within the enterprise.

摘要： Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to data collection. In aspects, when data is desired from one or more data sources, a size and/or other data regarding the data is obtained. Then, a data structure is generated that indicates multiple chunks of the data to obtain. Using the data structure and a query template, a query is generated to obtain a chunk of data. The obtained chunk of data is stored in a local store. If more chunks need to be obtained, first a wait for a period is performed before submitting another query for another chunk of data.

摘要： A system to collect and analyze performance metric data recorded in time-series measurements, converted into unicode, and arranged into a special data structure. The performance metric data is collected by one or more probes running on machines about which data is being collected. The performance metric data is also organized into a special data structure. The data structure at the server where analysis is done has a directory for every day of performance metric data collected with a subdirectory for every resource type. Each subdirectory contain text files of performance metric data values measured for attributes in a group of attributes to which said text file is dedicated. Each attribute has its own section and the performance metric data values are recorded in time series as unicode hex numbers as a comma delimited list. Analysis of the performance metric data is done using regular expressions.

KPI search queries each define a KPI. Each KPI search query derives one or more values for the KPI from machine data identified in the entity definitions. A dashboard template having an identifier for the KPI is presented by a graphical interface. The identifier presents at a user-designated location and may be a widget that provides a numerical or graphical representation of one or more values for the KPI. Embodiments may allow modification of the template.

摘要： Techniques for extrapolative searches are described herein. In one or more implementations, a searches are conducted using an extrapolative and additive mechanism that expands a specific query into one or more generalized queries. To do so, keywords contained in an input search query are extracted to use as a basis for a search related to content. The extracted keywords are expanded by categorization of name entities recognized from the keywords into corresponding generalized terms. Query strings to use for the search are built using combinations of keywords that are extracted from the text and corresponding generalized terms obtained by expanding the keywords. A search is conducted using the expanded queries and images results returned by the search are exposed as suggested images to represent the content.

摘要： A central computer system identifies a mobile item container in a retail shopping facility as being abandoned. The central computer system then directs a motorized transport unit through the retail shopping facility to the abandoned mobile item container and causes that motorized transport unit to physically attach to the abandoned mobile item container. The central computer system then directs that motorized transport unit through the retail shopping facility with the attached abandoned mobile item container to a specified destination within the retail shopping facility. Abandonment can be determined as a function, at least in part, of determining that the mobile item container is both stationary and unattended for at least a predetermined amount of time. By one approach the central computer system can use different predetermined amounts of time when assessing abandonment depending upon where in the retail shopping facility the mobile item containers are located.
