摘要： Computer controlled numbering of consecutive business forms is provided for both computer controlled presses and in the form of a retrofit unit for conventional rotary presses. The retrofit unit includes a disk provided with radially oriented metallic strips of predetermined locations on the disk, and mounted on a suitable shaft of the press. The disk cooperates with a stationary transducer mounted, for example, on a stationary press wall to send signals to the control unit to fire the printer.

摘要： A compact and efficient facsimile machine sheet feeding device can automatically select either roll or cut sheet paper supplies in response to received signals indicating the size of the remotely located original document being electronically transmitted thereto. The roll paper supply is preferably located in one end of a cut paper supply tray. A dual purpose document receiving bin is also preferably utilized so as to selectively receive scanned original documents at one end and to receive incoming copy documents at the other end. Either a roll sheet or cut sheet paper supply can be selected in accordance with the width of the original document. If the roll sheet supply is selected, it is cut to have the desired length of the original document.

摘要： A method and apparatus for the automatic production of business forms, wallpaper, newspapers or the like from a web of continuous printing material comprises an endless movable belt having at least one printing station. An image is projected to a surface of the belt. The image is transferred to the web of continuous material at the at least one printing station. Immediately after image transfer, the image is erased from the belt so that a remaining portion of the image may be projected onto its surface at the printing station. In this manner the device appears to provide a printing surface of indeterminate length and so is designed without relation to the image to be projected. A plurality of such printing stations may be arranged in series for color printing. Two more printing stations may be associated with one endless belt for printing two or more colors or two sides of the web. Furthermore, the operation of the printing station and associated activities may be controlled by a pre-selected computer program.

摘要： A device applicable to an image recording apparatus for feeding a recording medium in the form of a paper roll or a cut paper to a predetermined recording section of the apparatus. The device includes a plurality of paper feed mechanisms for feeding a recording medium. A sensor responsive to the kind of a recording medium in the form of a roll and a sensor responsive to the amount of remaining recording medium are associated with each of the paper feed mechanisms. When two or more paper feed mechanisms are each loaded with a recording medium of a desired kind, one of them which has a larger amount of recording medium remaining therein is automatically selected. When the amount of recording medium remaining in the feed mechanism being selected becomes substantially zero, another feed mechanism which is also loaded with a recording medium of the specified kind is automatically selected in place of the feed mechanism which has been exhausted. In the case of a rolled recording medium, when the length of recording medium remaining in the feed mechanism being selected and substantially run out is short of a necessary length, an extra recording medium is fed in addition to the number of recording media which is specified beforehand so as to produce an extra copy.

The system further includes a feed tray detachably mounted on a reproducing apparatus and having a partition plate selectively positionable in the feed tray to facilitate containment in the tray of a fan-folded document to be reproduced. The feed tray includes a bottom plate having downwardly projecting ribs to detachably mount the tray on the reproducing machine, and upwardly projecting ribs spaced from a paper discharge slot at the front side of the tray, and acting as an indexing abutment for contacting and positioning the fan-folded document in the tray.A document collection tray is detachably mountable on the reproducing machine for receiving the fan-folded document after passage through the reproducing machine, and deflecting them into a stacked fan-folded configuration.

摘要： A conversion kit is employed to convert a paper roll fed, positive liquid toner, coated paper photocopying machine into a negative liquid toner bond paper photocopying machine. Most basic elements of the kit are mounted on a frame which is adapted to be received by the chassis of the pre-existing positive liquid toner photocopying machine. The basic elements of the kit include an image projection system, a selenium drum, a drum drive mechanism, a liquid toner delivery system, a charge, discharge corona bar and a transfer corona bar. Other elements of the kit and further features of the invention are fully described in the specification. The purpose of the invention is to combine the economies of existing roll fed photocopying machines with the reliability of modern liquid toner plane paper copying systems.
