    • A method for removing fluids from a commingled well comprises positioning a fluid removal system in the well. In addition, the method comprises sealing a first formation from a second formation, shutting in the annulus, and closing off an inner flow passage of a tubing string. Further, the method comprises allowing the pressure of the first and second production zones to build up naturally. Still further, the method comprises flowing a fluid from the first production zone through a first of a plurality of check valves into the inner flow passage, and flowing a fluid from the second production zone through a second of the plurality of check valves into the inner flow passage. Moreover, the method comprises re-opening the inner flow passage of the tubing string and lifting the fluid in the inner flow passage to the surface.

    • An apparatus is provided for suction of a secondary fluid into a primary fluid through one or multiple gaps in contact with a venturi. The venturi imparts a high velocity on the primary fluid to flow across a gap in contact with the venturi and draw in the secondary fluid. The apparatus employs a linear venturi with the flow area, or opening, in the form of a narrow ring or narrow rectangle to increase the length of the gap in contact with the venturi. One gap is provided and positioned in contact with one side of the narrow venturi opening, or two gaps are provided having one positioned in contact each side of the narrow venturi opening. The linear venturi is housed in assemblies referred to as “eductors.” Various eductor embodiments are provided including: 1), cylindrical housings with one or multiple concentric linear venturi with openings in the form of narrow rings; 2), rectangular housings with a single rectangular linear venturi with an opening in the form of a narrow rectangle, with multiple rectangular linear venturi with inlets positioned around a primary fluid inlet to flow radially outward through the multiple venturi, with multiple rectangular linear venturi with outlets positioned around a mixing chamber to cause circulation of the flow of fluids; 3), a cylindrical housing with linear venturi with an opening in the form of a narrow ring adapted for inserting into piping; and 4), cylindrical housings with linear venturi with an opening in the form of a wide ring adapted for installation in piping.

    • A gas lift production apparatus is provided for use in flushing and snubbing well operation. The apparatus comprises upper production string and lower production string. The upper production string includes at least one side pocket mandrel carrying a gas lift valve, tubular strings connected with every side pocket mandrel, a sliding sleeve installed as part of the production string below side pocket mandrels and a latch seal assembly threaded in the tubular string below the sliding sleeve. The lower production string includes a single bore packer below the latch seal assembly, tubular strings, a landing nipple and a bell mouth at the bottom of the production string. The upper production string are run in and removed as a single unit from the packer which is anchored within the well casing. It is emphasized that this apparatus is provided with three functions such as producing a gas lift well, flushing well and snubbing well operation. Application of the apparatus will prevent flushing or killing fluid from polluting the reservoir and increase production efficiency.

The method includes receiving modeling data and user instructions from a graphical user interface, selectively adjusting at least a portion of the modeling data to generate adjusted modeling data, obtaining an oilfield model based on the user instructions, instantiating first and second simulator instances based on the user instructions for performing a simulation using the adjusted modeling data and the oilfield model, passing interim simulation results between the first and second simulator instances for performing the simulation, displaying a result of the simulation using the graphical user interface, and performing the oilfield operations based on the result of the simulation. Further, the oilfield operations include a gas lift operation of the oilfield and the graphical user interface is configured to emulate the gas lift operation using a wellbore simulator.

    • A system and method for systematically and economically recovering formation liquids from the bottom of a petroleum well are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the system and method are passive in that they utilize the existing formation pressure of the well to remove fluid build-up across the perforations of the well bore in a manner that is completely free from surface control. The system is comprised of strategically placed carrier subs with installed pressure regulating devices. These carrier subs are regularly spaced below the production packer, along the tail pipe section of the production tubing string and facing the perforated intervals of the well bore. The pressure of the trapped formation gas above the accumulating formation liquid is insufficient to remove all of the formation liquid within the entire length of the tubing string 13. However, an open pressure regulating device mounted on the tailpipe section of the tubing string allows a smaller portion of the formation liquid within the tubing string to be produced to the surface using the existing formation pressure. By systematically removing portions of the formation liquid from within the tubing string using the regularly spaced pressure regulating valves, the formation fluid build-up across the perforations is eliminated, and the petroleum well is able to produce at higher rates and for a longer period without intervention.
