    • An apparatus for installing soffit segments below the eaves of a building. A main body with a standoff is temporarily fastened to the sub-fascia. A swing arm and a locking arm are pivotally connected to each other and also to the main body, except that a J-shaped slot in the locking arm permits the locking arm to translate, as well as pivot, with respect to the main body. A segment of soffit material is placed upon the swing arm, and the swing arm is rotated about the pivot joint on the main body creating a lever action to lift the soffit material into a horizontal position immediately below the eave. The locking arm slot is notched to lock the locking arm and swing arm, into a fixed position. The apparatus thereby steadily maintains the soffit segment in position pending its permanent attachment to the underside of the eave. The apparatus is temporarily attached to the structure via a clamp arm or via screw into the sub-fascia.

    • There is shown the preforming of walls and floor slabs as a stack wherein the walls of each story are connected to the next floor slab thereabove by lift pick-up cables spaced along the to be top edge of each wall. Lift apparatus forming no part of the building is provided for attaching lift fixtures to elements cast in the edges of the floor slabs. The lift apparatus includes pairs of columns as necessary supporting a repositionable upward bridge therebetween having lifting jacks operating lift rods connected with the floor slabs below by the removable lift fixtures. The whole stack is lifted and starting with the first floor the ceiling slab lifts the walls therebelow which swing out and are guided into position under the slab thereabove and become load bearing walls. Successive like lifts are made to position the respective ceiling slabs and load bearing walls. Suitable vertically aligned apertures are formed in the walls and slabs above for installation of reinforcing rods.

    • For construction purposes, there is provided a novel method and apparatus for orienting and securing one panel to one or more panels of an array to comprise a wall, floor, ceiling or the like. The panel may be joined by contact adhesive along one longitudinal edge to the array or along two adjacent edges. In either event the apparatus insures fitting of the panel to the array prior to the application of adhesive, withdraws the panel from the array along a predetermined path to a predetermined location for application of the adhesive, then contacts the panel edges to the array to distribute adhesive along the edges to be bonded and removes the panel to the predetermined position until the adhesive reaches its optimum setting point. Then all points of the edges to be bonded are caused to contact simultaneously because the panel is moved along the predetermined path to its array position. One embodiment affixes panels in the vertical plane but brings them to the horizontal plane to facilitate the application of adhesive, and returns them for bonding without disturbing the final alignment. A modification of this embodiment enables tilting, angling, and skewing of the panel relative to a fixed floor or platform supporting the base of the machine to insure coplanar alignment of the panel to the array prior to bonding.

    • A hoist assembly to be used on scaffolds to support a fixture such as a fluorescent unit for the installation thereof and including a post holder, a post slidable upright into the post holder, a fixture carrying head rotatably mounted onto the upper end of the post, a winch to control the elevation of the post and carrying head, and brackets advantageously constructed and arranged to merely hook the hoist assembly to braces of the scaffold, thereby securing the same without any fastening, such as bolting, pinning or the like.

    • Apparatus for pouring preferably thin slabs or reenforced concrete of substantial area with a form therearound and light bottom therebelow completing a pan with the pan bottom being supported by a lift frame initially resting upon stationary support runners. The concrete is poured upon reenforcing means in the pan, including an extending bail, and the lift frame is engaged centrally from the outer end together with pan-encased poured slab to dispose such slab leaning against an upright. The upper end and side forms and the pan bottom may then be recovered, the slab curing in raised position above a lowest form member left thereunder to rest upon the support runners. The bail extending from the slab upper portion may then be engaged to handle the slab into permanent, predetermined position in a structure, the lowest form member at this time being removed.
