摘要： A microemulsion composition for treatment of pollution comprises a first component including any non-toxic, non-flammable surfactant known in the art for emulsifying fats and oils. The second component is a water soluble ester. The third component is a carbon containing non-toxic, non-flammable stabilizer for diluting the composition to a viscosity suitable for spraying or otherwise distributing the emulsion safely and evenly onto or into petroleum contaminated water. The emulsion is assimilated by the contamination such that hydrocarbon in the petroleum/water medium forms an agglomerated solid phase whereby the entire petroleum medium is physically separable from the water.

摘要： A filter aid and a method of using the same are disclosed that effectively removes contaminants from water-based metal forming liquids used in aluminum forming, rolling and other metal working processes. The filter aid includes a cellulosic material and a cationic polymer flocculating agent that is mixed with contaminated metal working fluid for a predetermined amount of time. The contaminated metal working fluid is then filtered through the filter aid, thereby removing the substantially all of the contaminants therein and allowing purified metal working fluid to return to the process system without carrying contaminants that will harm the surfaces of the metal being worked and the device that forms them. An acid material may be optionally added to the metal forming liquid, the acid serving to maintain the pressure and flow rate at normal levels by controlling clogging in the filter.

摘要： This invention is directed to processes designed to recover water used in certain aspects of the processing of poultry, treat the recovered water to remove solids, fats, oils and greases, animal proteins and pathogenic organisms and to reuse the treated water for poultry processing operations. Although the reuse points will vary from plant to plant depending upon specific water consumption volumes, type of processing operations conducted by the facility and regulatory requirements and approvals, there are a number of reuse points which are preferred based upon treated water quality requirements, material balances relating to the capacity to recover process streams and the consumption volumes at the identified reuse points, and source waters that have been shown to have the least total contaminant loading.

摘要： A process for washing fat- or dye-soiled materials involving: (a) providing a fat- or dye-soiled material; (b) providing an aqueous detergent-containing liquor; (c) contacting the fat- or dye-soiled material with the aqueous detergent-containing liquor, thus forming a washed material and wash wastewater; (d) providing a source of rinse water; (e) rinsing the washed material with the rinse water, at least once, thus forming rinsed material and rinse wastewater; (f) collecting both the wash and rinse wastewater; (g) chemically pretreating the collected wash and rinse wastewater by contacting it with a compound selected from the group consisting of a demulsifier, an oxidizing agent and mixtures thereof to form waste particles; (h) mechanically removing the waste particles from the collected wash and rinse wastewater by flotation or sedimentation to form prepurified wash and rinse wastewaters; (i) biologically treating the prepurified wash and rinse wastewater by introducing it into a fixed-bed reactor containing activated sludge to form a mixture of treated wastewater and sludge; (j) separating the treated wastewater from the sludge; and (k) recirculating the treated wastewater back into the aqueous detergent-containing liquor, the rinse water, or both.

摘要： Systems and methods for treatment of produced water form a steam assisted gravity drain operation are presented in which tight emulsions, total organic compounds, and solids are removed using a skim tanks that receives a multiphase mixture formed from a demulsifier and the produced water and that produces pre-treated water. The so formed pre-treated water is then subject to further total organic compounds reduction via combination with one or more oxidizing biocide to so form treated water that can be fed to a once through steam generator (OTSG) for re-injection into a formation.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention are generally related to a system and method to remove hydrogen sulfide from sour water and sour oil. In particular, hydrogen sulfide is removed from sour water and sour oil without the need for special chemicals, such as catalyst chemicals, scavenger chemicals, hydrocarbon sources, or a large scale facility. The system and method in the present invention is particularly useful in exploratory oil and gas fields, where large facilities to remove hydrogen sulfide may be inaccessible. The present invention addresses the need for safe and cost effective transport of the deadly neurotoxin. Particular embodiments involve a system and method that can be executed both on a small and large scale to sweeten sour water and sour oil.
