    • A cylindrical drum of a rotary transfer conveyor rotates below an opening at the bottom of a magazine for a stack of superimposed sheets. The drum carries a first pivotable gripping lever and one or more second pivotable gripping levers. The common pivot axis of the levers is parallel to the axis of the drum, and the levers are pivotable by cams so that their speed relative to the magazine is less than the peripheral speed of the drum during travel immediately below the opening in the bottom of the magazine. At such time, a set of suction cups flexes a portion of the lowermost sheet of the stack through the opening and between the first and second gripping levers so that the speed of the engaged sheet need not be immediately accelerated to the peripheral speed of the drum but merely to the relatively low absolute speed of the levers. The levers extract the lowermost sheet from the magazine and simultaneously accelerate the extracted sheet to the peripheral speed of the drum prior to moving apart so that the sheet can descend by gravity. The levers subsequently return to positions below the opening in the bottom of the magazine to proceed with extraction of the next lowermost sheet.

    • A case magazine and case stripper part of a case opening, loader sealer machine, including longitudinal case slide rails for supporting a vertical stack of unopened, horizontal, flat folded cases, lug devices mounted on a carriage that is longitudinally reciprocated by an endless chain drive to remove the lowermost case from the stack and push the lowermost case forwardly along the slide rails as the carriage moves forwardly, vertical stack support magazine brackets locates adjacent the corners of the stack extending upwardly from adjacent the elevation of the slide rails, and being mounted to be selectively adjustably positioned longitudinally and transverse relative one another, vacuum cup assemblies on opposite transverse sides of the slide rails for pivoting transversely opposite lowermost flaps about fold lines to a given angle of inclination and then release the flaps, spring hold down mechanism for retaining the flaps at said angle while permitting the flaps to be translated forwardly and control mechanism for the vacuum cup assemblies. The carriage mounts the gripper lug devices for engaging the inclined flaps and moving the lowermost case forwardly of the magazine brackets while the flaps are being retained at said angle.

    • A method and device to supply a processing section adjoining the device with print products withdrawn from a stack of print products in a feeder. The device including a magazine to contain the stack of print products and a separating device to separate a lowest print product from the stack along an edge region of the lowest print product formed by a sheet edge or a last fold. The device further includes a rear holder that is displaceable in coordination with the separating device to support the stack remaining during a cycle of withdrawing the lowest print product from the stack. A withdrawing device withdraws the lowest print product from an underside of the stack and includes a gripper to grip a front end of the lowest print product in the withdrawing direction while operating with timing of the separating device and the rear holder in the cycle.
