    • A bag supply apparatus for supplying bags onto a conveyer for transporting a bag bundle stacked such that an upper level bag is shifted forward, including a bag lifting device, which is provided with a pair of bag support members disposed facing one another on the left and right sides near the rear edge of a belt conveyor, and a rotation mechanism, which imparts translational motion of rotation in symmetric in a vertical plane with respect to the conveyance direction of the belt conveyor. The bag supporting portions of the bag support members contact the bag bundle from below to lift up the rear edge portion of the bag bundle and then separated from the bag bundle outwardly. While the bag supporting portions thus lifting the bag bundle, a new bag is fed into the space between the conveyance surface of the belt conveyor and the bag bundle.

    • A method for detecting a hopper insertion state for a bag-filling packaging machine using photoelectric sensors 7 provided at an item supply step position. The photoelectric sensors 7 detect deformation of the bag mouth that occurs when the hopper 4 is inserted into the bag mouth, and a decision whether the insertion status of the hopper 4 in the bag mouth is good or bad is made based on the detection result of the photoelectric sensors 7. If the tip end of the descending hopper 4 catches the bag mouth or presses the bag mouth and folds it, the bag face is moved away from the detection part 9 (light passage route) of the sensors 7, so that light from the light-emitting part of the sensors 7 reaches a reflecting mirror 6 and reflected, and the reflected light is detected by the light-receiving part of the sensors 7.

    • A contents-filling apparatus for use in a bag packaging machine. The apparatus comprises a reversing device including a rotating device for rotating intermittently a main rotating member around an axis thereof in one direction and for stopping the rotating member at a first and a second positions, and a pair of gripping members attached to the rotating device and being capable of gripping and releasing said vessel. The gripping members are designed to stop at a gripping stop position where said gripping members can grip a vessel in an upright state when said main rotating member stops at the first stop position, and stop at a reversal stop position where said vessel is held in a nearly inverted state when said main rotating member stops at the second positions. The apparatus further comprises a reversal stop position regulating device for regulating said reversal stop position, an empty vessel carrying-out device provided at an empty vessel discharging position on the way along which said gripping members returns from said reversal stop position to said gripping stop position, said empty vessel carrying-out device receiving an empty vessel and transferring it to downstream process; and a gripping member opening/closing apparatus for making said gripping members close to grip a vessel and for making said gripping members opens, thereby discharging the empty vessel towards an empty vessel carrying-out device.
