摘要： The present invention relates to an electronic device which has a male connection portion for connection with a female snap. The male connection portion comprises a conductive stud which is or can be screwed in to a portion of the electronic device via threading on the stud. Furthermore, an adhesive can be added to the stud or an opening of the electronic device in order to provide a secure and water tight seal between the stud and the electronic device. The stud generally makes an electrical connection between a conductive portion of the female snap and an electronic component within the electronic device. The male portion of the stud may also comprise a cavity or opening for receiving a tool for screwing the stud in to the electronic device and/or for receiving a guiding pin of the female snap portion.

The wearing apparel includes a flexible substrate and the sensor includes at least one electrode, which has a signalling surface, and which faces in the same direction as the first surface of the flexible substrate. In addition, the sensor includes a signal transmission conductor, which is connected electrically to the electrode. The signal transmission conductor is attached in a watertight manner to the second surface of the substrate. The wearing apparel is comfortable to the user, and sensor in the wearing apparel is reliable, economical to manufacture, and waterproof.

In the method, the beat rate of heart is measured with a sensor or previously measured heart rate data are input for providing heart rate data and the energy consumption of a person is determined on the basis of heart rate data. According to the invention, a first threshold value is selected for the mass of the person and in case the mass of the person is larger than the first threshold value, energy consumption is calculated using a formula taking into account the deviation of the person's mass from the said first threshold value. The invention allows getting more accurate energy consumption estimates especially for overweight persons.
