    • A collapsible structure has first and second wall panels, each wall panel having a foldable frame member having a folded and an unfolded orientation, a frame retaining sleeve for retaining the respective frame member, and a fabric material substantially covering each frame member to form the panel for each frame member when the frame member is in the unfolded orientation. The fabric assumes the unfolded orientation of its associated frame member. The foldable frame member for each wall panel further includes a top side and a bottom side, with the frame retaining sleeve of the first wall panel stitched along the length of its top side to the frame retaining sleeve along the length of the top side of the second wall panel to form a hinged connection.

The frame member may be twisted and folded to form a plurality of concentric loops in the folded orientation of the frame member to substantially reduce the size of the flying structure.

    • The present invention discloses a method to fabricate an improved dual fiber optical collimator. The method includes the steps of a) Inserting a GRIN lens into and held by a first short glass tube 110 and inserting a dual fiber pigtail 130 into and held by a second short glass tube 115. b) Adjusting the position of the GRIN lens 105 relative to the dual fiber pigtail 130 on an alignment stage to achieve a lowest transmission loss. c) Adjusting the positions of the glass tubes 110 and 115 by moving them toward center so that their end surfaces are in contact with each other. d) Fixing the fiber pigtail 130, the GRIN lens 105 and the glass tubes 110 and 115 together by applying a heat curing epoxy 135. e) Permanently fixing the fiber pigtail 130 to a long glass tube 140 by applying a heat curing epoxy 150. And, f) permanently fixing the glass tube 140 to a stainless steel holder 145 by applying a heat curing-epoxy 150.

    • Collapsible structure are provided having a first base panel and a second panel, each having a foldable frame member that has a folded and an unfolded orientation, and a material partially covering the frame member when the frame member is in the unfolded orientation, with the material assuming the unfolded orientation of its associated frame member. The second panel is flexed so that the first and second panels define an interior space, with the second panel having opposing first and second end edges that are coupled to the outer periphery of the first panel. The second panel can have two or more supporting frame members to allow the collapsible structures to be provided in different configurations and sizes. In addition, the first base panel can be replaced by a fabric or similar piece of material that is coupled to the first and second end edges of the second panel. The second panels can be coupled within, or outside, the outer periphery of the first base panel or fabric.

The wavelength division multiplexer includes a splitter and a plurality of isolators coupled to the splitter. The splitter is for separating the optical signal into a plurality of groups. Each group contains a portion of the plurality of components. The plurality of isolators correspond to the plurality of groups. Each of the plurality of isolators is for isolating each component of the corresponding group. In one embodiment, the splitter further includes a splitter input. In this embodiment, the wavelength division multiplexer further includes a filter coupled to the splitter input. The filter is for isolating one of the plurality of components.
