    • A method and system are described for providing a trader with the ability to quickly configure the quoting side of a trading tool, without experiencing the normal delays associated with conventional methods of quoting. In spread trading, an automated spread trading tool may automatically work an order to buy or sell a tradeable object. A user may configure the trading tool to work an order in a certain tradeable object first. The system allows the user to essentially on-the-fly configure the trading tool to work a second order in another tradeable object, and in response to the change, the system can take specific actions such as deleting the order in the first tradeable object and automatically entering the second order in the other tradeable object. This allows the trader to trade quickly and efficiently.

    • An organic TFT (OTFT) inverter arrangement comprises an inverter stage including a series arrangement of first and second MOS OTFTs (T1, T2) connected between first and second supply terminals (VDD), the first and second OTFTs having first and second gates, respectively. An input terminal (VIN) is connected to the first gate, while an output terminal (VOUT) is connected to the node interconnecting the first and second OTFTs (T1, T2). A bias-control stage is connected between the first gate and the second gate. The bias-control stage is an inverting stage, such that, when an input voltage on the first gate rises, a voltage on the second gate falls, and vice-versa. The bias-control stage comprises a series arrangement of third and fourth OTFTs (T3, T4) connected between the first and second supply terminals (VDD, VSS), and a series arrangement of fifth and sixth OTFTs (T11, T12) connected between the first and second supply terminals (VDD, VSS). The fifth and sixth OTFTs (T11, T12) are controlled by the third and fourth OTFTs (T3, T4) and feed the first and second gates, respectively. The OTFT inverter arrangement may be used as the basis of an OTFT logic-gate arrangement.

    • An electro-optical arrangement includes an electro-optical device, which can take either a first display state or a second display state, and a driving stage which provides first and second electrode-drive signals to drive the first and second electrodes of the device. The driving stage in an initial clearing operation outputs a voltage across the electrodes, which places the device into its second display state corresponding to a second coloration of the device. Subsequently the driver stage applies voltages to the electrodes, such that the device assumes either the first display state (a first coloration) or the second display state (maintained second coloration). This is a writing phase of the device. In either state it is arranged for the device not to be subjected to more than a safe operating voltage across its electrodes. Preferably the device is an electrophoretic device and, in one of its two display states, one of its electrodes is supplied with a voltage which is higher than the voltage (Vcom) on the other electrode, while in the other of its two display states the one electrode is supplied with a voltage which is lower than the voltage (Vcom) on the other electrode, the voltage (Vcom) on the other electrode in one embodiment being approximately midway between the two voltages on the one electrode and the two voltage differences each being less than the safe operating voltage. A greyscale driving scheme is also envisaged.

    • A driver circuit operating in stages that comprise a programming stage and a reproduction stage, the circuit comprising: a plurality current paths each of which passes through the circuit, a current driven element, a transistor connected so as operatively to control the current supplied to the said element, a capacitor connected for storing an operating voltage of the transistor during the programming stage, and switching means which control the current paths, the arrangement being such that one of the current paths does not include the said element. No current is applied to the current driven element by the current controlling transistor during the programming stage and thus the overall power consumption is reduced. Furthermore, the circuit can be operated from a normal supply voltage rather than requiring a high bias voltage. During the programming stage, the circuit uses a current sink rather than a current source. Preferably, the current driven element is an electroluminescent element.
