    • A process for producing a multicolor optical filter by exposing a multilayer color photographic material comprising:(1) a silver halide emulsion layer containing a colored coupler (1b) which has one of cyan, magenta or yellow colors and which forms a dye of one of the other two colors than the color of the colored coupler by a coupling reaction with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent, and(2) a silver halide emulsion layer containing (i) a silver halide emulsion having a sufficiently high sensitivity that it can be exposed without exposing emulsion layer (1) and without increasing the color density in emulsion layer (1) and (ii) a colored coupler (2b) which has the same color as that of the dye formed by the coupling reaction of the colored coupler (1b) and which forms a cyan, magenta or yellow dye but not the color of the colored coupler (1b) or the color of the dye formed by the coupling reaction of the colored coupler (1b); the exposure is through a stripe or mosaic filter or mask having specified transmissions, and then processing the photographic material with a color developer containing an aromatic primary amine color developing agent.The multicolor optical filters prepared are used for color pick-up tubes and color solid state pick-up devices.

    • An object of the present invention is to provide an inkjet recording ink ensuring excellent discharge stability even after aging of the ink and also exhibiting excellent weather resistance. This object of the present invention can be attained by a black ink for inkjet recording, comprising an aqueous medium containing a dye in which λmax of the absorption spectrum in an aqueous solution is in the region from 500 and 700 nm and the standardized half-value width thereof is 100 nm or more. The aqueous ink of the present invention is more enhanced in the discharge stability and weather resistance when the dye contained in the ink, particularly, the dye having the above-described spectral characteristics, is a dye having an oxidation potential of 1.0 V vs SCE or more, 2) a dye having a discoloration rate constant of 5.0×10−2 Hr−1 or less, 3) a dye where the maximum value/minimum value ratio of discoloration rate constants of three colors is 1.2 or less, 4) a dye represented by formula (1), 4) a dye containing a compound of formula (A), 5) a dye containing a high boiling point water-miscible organic solvent, 6) particularly a dye containing 20 mass % or more of a water-miscible organic solvent having a boiling point of 100° C. or more and 2 mass % or less of a compound of formula (A), and 7) a dye containing a high boiling point water-miscible solvent and a low boiling point water-miscible solvent. The inkjet recording ink of the present invention is an ink capable of ensuring pictorial quality with no loosening in the gradation of neutral gray even by visual evaluation.

    • The present invention provides an image-receiving material having a support and an ink-receiving layer formed on the support, wherein the ink-receiving layer contains at least one of the groups consisting of: particles having penetration holes; and particles having concaves, in an amount of at least 10 mass % based on the total solid content of the ink-receiving layer. The ink-receiving layer has thermoplasticity, and the ink-receiving layer contains a thermoplastic component which generates the thermoplasticity, in an amount of at least 50 mass % based on the total solid content of the ink-receiving layer. The invention also provides an ink jet recording method which includes subjecting the image-receiving material after recording to smoothing treatment.

    • An inorganic composition comprises an inorganic matrix, wherein an inorganic layered compound is contained in the inorganic matrix. The inorganic matrix is preferably a metal oxide glass produced by a sol-gel method, and the inorganic layered compound is preferably swelling synthetic mica. A method of producing a film includes the steps of: hydrolyzing, dehydrating, and condensing an organic metal compound to obtain a reaction product; adding and dispersing the inorganic layered compound in the reaction product; coating the reaction product containing the inorganic layered compound on a substrate surface; and heating the substrate surface coated with the reaction product at a temperature of not more than 200° C. to vitrify the reaction product.
