    • An electrical connector includes a connector housing, an organizer configured to be coupled to the connector housing and a plurality of leadframe assemblies supported by the connector housing. One or more of the leadframe assemblies can support respective ones of a plurality of electrical contacts that define respective mounting ends. The electrical connector can further include at least one alignment member disposed between the organizer and a respective one of the plurality of leadframe assemblies. The organizer can define a plurality of openings sized to receive the mounting ends of the plurality of electrical contacts. The organizer and the at least one alignment member can operate to align the plurality of leadframe assemblies along a mating direction, and the plurality of openings can operate to align respective mounting ends of the plurality of electrical contacts along a second direction that is substantially perpendicular with respect to the mating direction.

    • A connector capable of being mounted onto a substrate is disclosed. Such a connector may include a housing, and a contact mounted within the housing. The contact may include a body, terminal pins extending from a first edge of the body, contact beams extending from a second edge of the body, and a flared portion. The edges of a first contact beam and a second contact beam of the contact beams may be positioned proximate respective adjacent surfaces of the housing. The flared portion may also be positioned proximate a respective adjacent surface of the housing. The relationship between the first contact beam and its respective adjacent surface, the relationship between the second contact beam and its respective adjacent surface, and the relationship between the flared portion and its respective surface may inhibit bowing of the body of the contact when the connector is mounted on the substrate.

    • Complementary contact and contact block designs are disclosed that help prevent movement of a contact received in the contact block when an electrical connector is press-fit or otherwise connected to a printed circuit board. A protrusion may be included on one or both beams of a dual beam contact, and a contact cavity may be formed in the contact block. The protrusion and the contact cavity may include complementary shapes such that the protrusion abuts a wall within the contact cavity, preventing the contact from moving relative to the contact block as the electrical connector is connected to a printed circuit board. The protrusion and a wall of the contact cavity additionally may include other complementary shapes (e.g., a radius or angle shape) such that a length of the protrusion abuts the contact cavity wall, providing a longer load bearing surface.
