摘要： A UE in a wireless communication network transmits succinct, direct channel state information to the network, enabling coordinated multipoint calculations such as joint processing, without substantially increasing uplink overhead. The UE receives and processes reference symbols over a set of non-uniformly spaced sub-carriers, selected according to a scheme synchronized to the network. The frequency response for each selected sub-carrier is estimated conventionally, and the results quantized and transmitted to the network on an uplink control channel. The non-uniform sub-carrier selection may be synchronized to the network in a variety of ways.

The receiver comprises a plurality of successive signal detection stages to detect respective signals contained in the composite received signal. Each detection circuit comprises at least one Generalized RAKE combining circuit and generates a detected signal at an output. Each but the last stage further comprises a signal regeneration circuit that cancels the signal of interest detected by that stage from a stage input signal provided to the next stage such that successive detection of the signals of interest benefits from cumulative cancellation of the previously detected signals.

摘要： Diversity radio transmission is accomplished with excellent performance using multiple antennas receiving a transmission signal from a single power amplifier. A data signal to be transmitted is provided to a first antenna, and a phase-shifted version of the data signal is applied a second antenna. The relative phase shift between the data signal transmitted over the two transmit antennas ensures the two antenna signals can be constructively combined at the receiver. In one non-limiting example embodiment, the relative phase shift is determined by processing pilot signals sent along with the data signal and which are transmitted with predetermined phase shifts.

摘要： A method is described herein that enables a Selective-Per-Antenna-Rate-Control (S-PARC) technique to be effectively implemented in a wireless communications network (e.g., HSPDA third generation communications network). In one embodiment, the method enables the S-PARC technique to be implemented in the wireless communications network by enabling a mobile terminal device to generate and transmit a “full” feedback signal to a base station that analyzes the “full” feedback signal and determines which mode and transmission rate(s) are going to be used to transmit data substream(s) from selected transmit antenna(s) to the mobile terminal device. In another embodiment, the method enables the S-PARC technique to be implemented in the wireless communications network by enabling a mobile terminal device to generate and transmit a “reduced” feedback signal to a base station that analyzes the “reduced” feedback signal and determines which mode and transmission rate(s) are going to be used to transmit data substream(s) from selected transmit antenna(s) to the mobile terminal device.

摘要： Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) tables are tailored to one or more cells of interest. Tailoring CQI tables to individual cells permits devices such as radio base stations to more reliably and accurately allocate radio resources to those cells since channel conditions vary from cell to cell. According to one embodiment, a table of CQI values is composed by analyzing information indicating channel quality in a cell of interest and generating at least one table of CQI values tailored to the cell of interest based on the information analyzed. The tailored CQI table may be deployed to another device for use in reporting channel quality information. The device may report channel quality by accessing the tailored CQI and identifying the range of CQI values that includes a channel quality estimate derived by the device. The device generates a channel quality information message based on the identified range of CQI values.

摘要： A transmitting node uses different reference signal sequences for different types of enhanced control channels. An example method begins with generating (1410) a first reference signal sequence, from a first initialization value, and generating (1420) a second reference signal sequence, from a second initialization value. These reference signal sequences are associated with two corresponding enhanced control transmissions. A first enhanced control channel and reference symbols taken from the first reference signal sequence are transmitted (1430), using first time-frequency resources and a first set of transmission points or a first set of antenna ports or both, and a second enhanced control channel and reference symbols taken from the second reference signal sequence are also transmitted (1440), using a differing second set of transmission points and/or a differing second set of antenna ports and/or a differing second set of time-frequency resources, in the same subframe or group of subframes.
