    • The present invention relates to a mobile multicast system and a method thereof, and more particularly to a network-based mobility multicast system and a method thereof. The system according to one embodiment of the present invention is the mobile multicast system for supporting the network-based mobility comprising: access points which communicate with mobile terminals within an access network through a wireless channel, obtains layer 2 addresses of the terminals, and provides the obtained layer 2 addresses of the terminals; management parts which control a handover of each terminal included in the access points, transmit multicast packets to be provided to the terminals, and are provided according to the access points; a router which receives the multicast data through the network, and transmits the multicast packets to the terminals for receiving the multicast data; and a mobile control server which obtains position information of the terminals from the management parts, transmits a query message for determining the reception of the multicast data to each of the management parts so as to confirm whether the terminals join the multicast when receiving the query message from the router, and controls setting of a tunnel between the router and the management part for transmitting a membership report message when receiving the membership report message for joining the multicast.

    • A method and apparatus for measuring the quality of a video provided in an IP network based media service is provided. The apparatus for measuring Quality of Experience (QoE) guaranteed real-time Internet Protocol (IP)-media video quality, includes: a receiver receiving a transmission video provided through an IP network service platform and an original video corresponding to the transmission video, and extracting frames of the transmission video and the original video; a detector comparing the frames of the transmission video and the original video in real time to obtain a difference between the frames of the transmission video and the original video and detecting a matching segment between the transmission video and the original video; and a measurement unit calculating a QoE parameter using the frames of the transmission video and the original video which correspond to the matching segment.

    • A method for supporting handoff and preventing data loss in mobile communications networks is provided. The method for a mobile node establishing a mobile Internet protocol (MIP) with at least one or more wireless packet service systems, each of which has a serving GPRS support node (SGSN) and a gateway GPRS support node (GGSN), includes: a first SGSN connected to the mobile node transmitting predetermined first connection information on the mobile node to at least one or more second SGSNs adjacent to the first SGSN; the second SGSN receiving the first connection information storing the first connection information as a database item, and transmitting 1 first connection acknowledgement message to the first SGSN; if reception of the connection acknowledgement message is successful, the first GGSN connected to the first SGSN transmitting predetermined second connection information on the mobile node to at least one or more second GGSNs connected to the second SGSN; and the second GGSN receiving the second connection information and then transmitting a second connection acknowledgement message to the second GGSN. By transmitting information on a mobile node required for handoff to adjacent foreign agents (FAs) in advance, when handoff is performed, reliable handoff can be performed quickly without resetting and releasing a PPP, such that IP mobility services can be provided.

    • Provided is a method for communication between access points (APs) and for a user agent (UA)'s selecting an AP and establishing a connection by which in establishing a connection between a wireless LAN AP providing a wireless LAN service and the UA in a public wireless LAN service utilizing a wireless LAN technology, a maximum efficiency of the AP a maximum performance of the UA can be obtained. According to the method, the number of user agents connected to a current AP and the amount of traffic being currently processed are compared with the maximum capacity of a neighboring AP and the number of user agents connected to and being serviced by the neighboring AP, to recommend an optimum AP to the user agent. By doing so, the user agent is allowed to comprehensively review information on the number of user agents connected to an adjacent AP and the amount of traffic being processed by the AP as well as reception sensitivity, and then to select an optimum AP.
