    • In accordance with a method for wireless communication, in a coexistence system comprising a plurality of different wireless interface devices within a single integrated circuit, wherein each of the plurality of wireless interface devices utilizes a corresponding different wireless communication standard, and when one of the plurality of wireless interface devices is receiving or will receive a packet, communicating from the one of the plurality of wireless interface devices, an indication to at least one of a remaining one or remaining ones of the plurality of wireless interface devices, which enables the at least one of the remaining one or ones of the plurality of wireless interface devices to delay corresponding transmission based on the indication. The indication may include status information for the receiving of the packet by the one of the plurality of wireless interface devices.

    • Aspects of a method and system for a mobile piconet base station are provided. Switching and/or routing capabilities in mobile handset may enable wireless devices to communicate with each other and/or with a wireless network via the mobile handset. The mobile handset operates as a base station for wireless devices within a personal area or piconet. For voice communication, for example, communication between a wireless device within the piconet and a cellular network or a voice-over-IP (VoIP) network may be established via the mobile handset. The selection between the cellular or VoIP network may be based on rate price and/or on features available in each of the networks, for example. Communication between the wireless devices and the base station mobile handset may occur via a Bluetooth connection and/or another type of wireless technology, for example. The wireless devices may be low-cost, small form factor mobile handsets, for example.

    • A method and apparatus for channel estimation in a spread spectrum receiver include processing that begins by despreading a received spread spectrum complex baseband sample utilizing a pseudorandom spreading sequence to produce a despread baseband symbol. The processing continues by filtering the despread baseband symbol to attenuate adverse channel effects based on a channel response estimate to produce a filtered despread baseband symbol. The processing then continues by decoding the filtered despread baseband symbol to produce recaptured data. The processing continues by modulating the recaptured data to produce a remodulated symbol. The processing then continues by producing a reconstructed spread spectrum complex baseband sample from the remodulated symbol based on the pseudorandom spreading sequence. The processing then continues by generating the channel response estimate such that a convolution of the channel response estimate with the reconstructed spread spectrum complex baseband sample substantially emulates the received spread spectrum complex baseband sample.

    • A method and apparatus for fractional-N synthesis includes processing that begins by generating a 1st feedback frequency from the output frequency based on a fixed divider value. The processing continues by generating a 2nd feedback frequency from the output frequency based on a selectable divider value, a modified fractional value of the divider value, and a modified integer value of the divider value. The processing continues by determining whether the fractional value of the divider value is within a range of fractional values. If so, the 1st feedback frequency is used to produce the output. If the fractional portion of the divider value is not within the range of fractional values, the 2nd feedback frequency is used to produce the output frequency.
