    • A fixing device for fixing a toner image on a recording medium includes a fixing roller to rotate in a predetermined direction of rotation, a pressing roller to rotate and contact an outer circumferential surface of the fixing roller to form a nip between the pressing roller and the fixing roller through which the recording medium bearing the toner image passes to fix the toner image by heat and pressure, a pressing lever to hold both lateral end portions of the pressing roller, and a cam disposed on a camshaft, to rotate the pressing lever to change the position of the pressing roller. Rotation of the cam in a first, pressing direction enables the pressing roller to pressingly contact the fixing roller. Rotation of the cam in a second direction opposite the pressing direction enables the pressing roller to separate from the fixing roller.

    • A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressure member and a separation mechanism. The pressure member presses against the fixing member to form a nip through which a toner image on a recording medium is fixed. The separation mechanism is disposed at a downstream side from the nip to separate the recording medium from the fixing member. The separation mechanism includes a separation plate and a gap control member. The separation plate opposed to the fixing member with a gap therebetween includes a metal base member and a resin tip member. The gap control member controlling the gap by contacting the fixing member includes a curved tip having a radius of not greater than 0.6 mm. A center of the curved tip and a tip of the resin tip member are congruent with each other in a direction perpendicular to a feed direction of the recording medium.

    • The invention provides a thermal type flow meter which has a high reliability and a low cost. In a thermal type flow meter provided with a flow rate detecting element in which at least a heat generating resistor and a lead electrode are formed on a surface of a tabular substrate, and a support body in which a concave portion accommodating the flow rate detecting element is formed on a surface, and in which the flow rate detecting element is firmly fixed and accommodated by an adhesive agent in a back surface of the tabular substrate and a part of a bottom surface of the concave portion, an approximately straight discharge groove which is deeper than a bottom surface of the concave portion and passes through both end surfaces in upward and downward sides of the concave portion is formed from the upstream side of the support body concave portion to the downstream side, between the cavity of the tabular substrate and the back surface region of the tabular substrate in which the lead electrode is formed. Accordingly, it is possible to achieve the thermal type flow meter which has the high reliability and the low cost.
