摘要： In an image processing device for recording images with Y, M, and C color ink, a received Bk image is recorded with a color more similar to an original black color and solves a problem caused by too much amount of ejected ink such as bleeding with other colors or feathering. An image data consisting of four color elements of YMCBk is entered from a host computer, a Bk conversion unit converts the Bk element to respective Y, M, and C elements by masking of respective Y, M, and C elements generated randomly for the entered Bk element image data, and an image synthesizing unit synthesizes the converted YMC elements with the entered YMC elements. Then, an image recording unit for forming an image with three colors of YMC forms an image based on the synthesized YMC elements and records the image on a recording medium with ejecting YMC ink from a recording head.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for ink jet printing use a print head including a first nozzle group for discharging a first ink, a second nozzle group for discharging a second ink and a third nozzle group for discharging a printability improving solution. The third nozzle group is displaced between the first nozzle group and the second nozzle group. The first nozzle group discharges the first ink on the printing medium based on image data to form an image, the third nozzle group discharges the printability improving solution on the image formed on the printing medium by means of another step, and the second nozzle group discharges the second ink on the image formed on the printing medium. The printability improving solution has higher penetrability into the printing medium compared to the ink.The method and apparatus can attain a clear colored, high density image without color mixing, which has high water resistance on plain paper, with a low running cost.

摘要： In a print apparatus and method in which the print head having printing elements to form print dots is made to scan over a printing medium in a predetermined direction to form a printed image, the drive timing intervals between a plurality of dots formed in the scan direction by the same printing element are changed in a cycle smaller than a cycle in which a printed image variation appears, in order to eliminate the printed image unevenness that cyclically appears due to variations in the manufacturing errors of a rotary drive source and other mechanisms for performing the scanning. By driving the printing elements in this way, it is possible to change the distance between adjoining dots in the predetermined direction in a short cycle and thereby render the cyclic unevenness caused by the rotary drive source visually impossible to recognize.
