摘要： The image heating apparatus for heating an image formed on a recording material includes a heater having a substrate and first and second heat generating resistors, most of the region of said first heat generating resistor having smaller resistance value per unit length toward an end in the longitudinal direction of said substrate, and most of the region of said second heat generating resistor having larger resistance value per unit length toward the end part; wherein a safety element can control electrical power supply to said first heat generating resistor and electrical power supply to said second heat generating resistor individually, and operates in response to the heat of said heater to cut off electrical power supply to said first and second heat generating resistors; and wherein only said second heat generating resistor in said first and second heat generating resistors has a high resistance part high resistance part corresponding to said safety element in a part in the longitudinal direction thereof; and consequently, this can provide an image heating apparatus that can cut off electrical power supply quickly when a heater has run away and to provide a heater to be used in this apparatus.

摘要： A silicon nitride porous body which is obtained by nitriding a molded body having metallic silicon as a main component and by performing a high temperature heating treatment at a temperature higher than the nitriding temperature, and which has a porous structure with an average pore diameter of 3 μm or above, and contains at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of the groups 2A, 3A, 3B inclusive of lanthanoid elements, and 4B. The silicon nitride porous body has a porous structure with a large average pore diameter, a test specimen cut out from the porous body exhibiting a high thermal conductivity and a small thermal expansion coefficient, and can be suitably used in a component for purifying gas and/or solution such as a ceramic filter.

This honeycomb structure can exceed required levels, in all of thermal conductivity, chemical durability, low thermal expansion and mechanical strength, producible at a low cost, and suitably used in a filter for purification of automobile exhaust gas, a catalyst carrier, etc.

An oscillating voltage including an AC voltage component is applied to the charge member. A first detector detects an AC current applied to the charge member and a second detector detects the AC current corresponding to a peak or a neighborhood of the peak of the AC voltage. A controller effects control such that current detected by the second detector is a predetermined level when the current detected by the first detector is within a predetermined range, and such that current detected by the first detector is a predetermined level when the current detected by the first detector is outside the predetermined range.

摘要： The present invention provides a process for packing a drum-shaped electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising the steps of folding a wrapping-start edge portion of a light-shielding packing sheet outwardly in a diametrical direction of the photoreceptor across a width of the packing sheet, and wrapping the packing sheet on a circumferential surface of the photoreceptor. The packing process of the present invention enables an electrophotographic photoreceptor, which has a small diameter, or has a soft surface and is susceptible to scratching, to be packed without forming scratches on its surface and decreasing its photosensitivity.
