摘要： A variable resistor is constructed to reliably seal the space between a rotor and a substrate without insert-molding the substrate into a case, and to be produced at a very low cost. This variable resistor includes a hollow square-prism shaped case which is open at the top and the bottom, a substrate which is fitted into the lower opening of the case, and on the top surface of which a collector electrode and an arcuate resistor are provided, a rotor rotatably fitted into the upper opening of the case, a slider mounted on the bottom surface of the rotor and making sliding contact with the collector electrode and the resistor, an annular packing member disposed between the rotor and the substrate for sealing the space therebetween, terminals mounted on the substrate and electrically connected to the resistor and the collector electrode, and a metallic cover.

摘要： In manufacturing a thermoplastic copolymer by copolymerizing an aromatic vinyl monomer, a vinyl cyanide monomer, and, when necessary, a vinyl monomer (a) copolymerizable with the above two monomers, at least a part or all of the vinyl cyanide monomer is put in a reactor and copolymerizing reaction is started, and a weight of an unreacted portion of the aromatic vinyl monomer is caused to become greater than a weight of an unreacted portion of the vinyl cyanide monomer when all the monomer components are put in the reactor. By doing so, a ratio of the vinyl cyanide monomer in a structural unit of a thermoplastic copolymer produced at latter stages of the copolymerizing reaction is lowered. Thus, the present invention is capable of providing a thermoplastic copolymer which has excellent physical properties such as good heat resistance and good mechanical strength and is hard to discolor, as well as a manufacturing method thereof.

In a sewing machine, a plurality of sewing programs stored in a data recording medium are read, and image data indicative of a sewing pattern corresponding to each sewing program is generated. The image data is then transmitted to the data editing device. In the data editing device, a plurality of sewing patterns are displayed in accordance with the received image data. When one of the displayed sewing patterns is selected by an operator, a predetermined operation is applied to a sewing program corresponding to the selected sewing pattern.

Such a copolymer includes an aromatic vinyl-based monomer unit and a maleimide-based monomer unit as essential components, proportion y of the maleimide-based monomer unit in structure is 35 to 65% by weight, and a content of the compound (X) is 3% or less and also, does not exceed a numeral value of 0.06y. The copolymer is prepared by radical copolymerization which is carried out by supplying gradually an aromatic vinyl-based monomer and a maleimide-based monomer into a reaction vessel under a condition of keeping these monomers separated without mixing together beforehand. ##STR1##

摘要： A roller driving apparatus for use in a roller hearth kiln has a kiln tunnel and kiln side walls. The apparatus includes a rotary drive shaft, a holder fixedly mounted at one end thereof on the rotary drive shaft, a metal connection pipe detachably mounted on the other end of the holder and including a positioning aperture formed therein, a ceramic roller, and a metallic receiver roller rotatably supporting the driven end of the ceramic roller through a metallic coil spring. The positioning aperture extends along the longitudinal axis of the connection pipe, and the ceramic roller is mounted at a drive end thereof on an end of the connection pipe opposite to the holder for receiving drive power from the rotary drive shaft. The ceramic roller has another, driven end, and extends through the kiln tunnel through one of the kiln side walls of the roller hearth kiln. An engaging arrangement is fixedly mounted at one end of the holder, for selectively engaging with the positioning aperture of the connection pipe, and the metallic coil spring is wound on an outer periphery of the driven end of the ceramic roller.

摘要： A roller driving apparatus in a roller hearth kiln which has a plurality of ceramic rollers arranged across a kiln tunnel. The ceramic rollers rotate to move articles to be heat treated while conveying them. A rotary drive shaft connects the ceramic roller through a holder and a cylindrical metallic connection pipe which is mounted on the other end of the holder and which includes a positioning aperture formed therein. A leaf spring is fixedly mounted with one end on the holder, and the other end being engageable with the positioning aperture of the connection pipe. The opposite driven end of the ceramic roller is supported on a pair of metallic receiver rollers through a metallic coil spring which is wound on the driven end of the ceramic roller.

The bowl leveler is combined with the collet portion by means of a bolt and is free to tilt back/forth and sideways as guided by the collet. An upper end portion of the vertically movable body is provided with a collar at place outside the collet, the collar vertically movable relative to the vertically movable body. The collar includes an abutment portion on an inside surface thereof, the abutment portion capable of being abutted against an outside surface of the collet.
