摘要： A system and method of assessing the driving task demand on the driver of a vehicle, and further controlling one or more devices on the vehicle as a function of the assessed driver demand is provided. The method includes sensing a coverage zone in relation to a vehicle, determining a presence of one or more objects in the sensed zone, measuring speed of each detected object in the sensed zone, determining a variation in speed of one or more sensed objects, and determining a driving task demand signal indicative of driving task demand of the vehicle as a function of the measured speed variability. The method controls one or more devices on the vehicle based on the driving task demand signal. Alternately, the driving task demand signal is determined based on vehicle speed.

Each of the centrifuge devices may be loaded and unloaded without affecting the operation of the other centrifuge devices. The centrifuge devices include a plurality of rotors that are spaced apart and translated along a predetermined path. The rotors are rotatably mounted with respect to the predetermined path and the rotational planes of the rotors extend substantially at right angles to the predetermined path.

摘要： An embodiment of a single use nitrous oxide solution delivery system can be used in a prehospital setting such as in ambulances. A container can be filled with a predetermined relative concentration of nitrous oxide and oxygen gases. The container is sized to be stored in a repository within an automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) for medications. The container is connected to a regulator which includes a main control dial configured to allow a health care provider to adjust the volumetric flow rate of the nitrous oxide and oxygen gas mixture used by a patient. A scavenger can be optionally connected to a patient's mask and configured to remove exhaled gas. Another embodiment of a single use nitrous oxide solution delivery system can be used within hospitals and other medical buildings.

摘要： A tissue protector is adapted to be positioned on the skin surrounding an incision. The tissue protector provides a load bearing surface for surgical tools and instruments to prevent blunt force and pressure trauma to the skin and soft tissues within the incision. In one embodiment, the tissue protector is a sheet of wear-resistant material having an opening corresponding to the incision and expandable as the incision is retracted. In another embodiment, a tissue protector device includes a continuous expandable arrangement of interconnected L-shaped links. In still another embodiment, a one-piece tissue protector includes a flexible panel supported on the skin and a flexible sleeve extending into the incision. Yet another embodiment of the invention resides in a track that is supported about the incision. An instrument support platform is slidably mounted to the track to support a surgical tool relative to the incision.

In one embodiment, the control system is able to determine the occurrence of NVH anomalies due to gear lash and control the operation of various vehicle devices to reduce the effects of gear lash. Subsequently, the applied torque is gradually increased until a creep torque is reached.
