    • Disclosed is a sanitary ware which has a self-cleaning function for releasing carboxyl-containing greasy stains or soils, such as fatty acids, fatty esters, metallic soaps (scum of soaps), proteins, amino acids, bacteria, and fungi, and deposited stains or soils, such as water scale and urinary calculi. This sanitary ware comprises at least a sanitary ware body and a glaze layer as an outermost layer of the sanitary ware, a monovalent metal component and/or a metal component having a measure of the electronegativity based on Pouling's rule of not more than 1 being provided so as to be releasable evenly and continuously, over the whole surface of the glaze layer as the outermost layer, in such an amount large enough to impart a self-cleaning function for releasing stains or soils to the surface of the glaze layer as the outermost layer, the metal component being suppliable from the glaze layer as the outermost layer and/or the sanitary ware body to the whole surface of the outermost layer. The sanitary ware is advantageous in that stains or soils on the sanitary ware can be simply removed, for example, by running water without using any surfactant and without strongly scrubbing the surface of the sanitary ware by a scrubbing brush or a cleaning brush.

    • A thermoplastic resin composition can be obtained by adding about 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of a diene-series block copolymer (2) to 100 parts by weight of a resin composition containing a polycarbonate-series resin (1) as a basic component of which the proportion of terminal hydroxy groups relative to the whole of the terminals is 1 mole % or above (about 5 to 40 mole %). The polycarbonate-series resin base may further comprise a thermoplastic resin composition (3) such as a rubber-modified styrenic resin. The block copolymer component (2) includes an epoxy-modified block copolymer, etc. When added an organophosphorus compound as a flame retardant (4), or a fluorine-containing resin as a flame-retartant auxiliary (5), a halogen-free flame-retardant thermoplastic resin composition can be obtained. A thermoplastic resin with an improved flowability and impact strength can be obtained by modifying a polymer blend of the polycarbonate-series resin and the styrenic-series resin in quality.

    • A microfilm projecting apparatus for projecting an image of a microfilm on a screen and projecting the same on a photoreceptor, the microfilm projecting apparatus including a reflector movably provided between a first position out of an image projecting light path and a second position in the image projecting light path. The image projecting light travels to the screen when the reflector is at the first position. The reflector moves from the first position to the second position along a plane including the reflecting surface thereof and reflects the image projecting light to the photoreceptor at the second position. A detector is arranged for detecting the density of the image by receiving the image projecting light reflected by the reflector while the reflector is moving from the first position to the second position.

    • An image reader is disclosed which is provided with a screen for an image recorded on a microfilm to be projected thereon and a photoelectric transferring element for transforming the image into electric signals. In a light path originating in a light source and reaching the photoelectric transferring element, a beam attenuating filter for attenuating the luminous energy of the beam of light exposed on the photoelectric transferring element is disposed and used for decreasing the difference in the illuminance of the light source during the reader mode for causing the image to be projected on the screen and during the transforming mode for causing the image to be exposed on the photoelectric transferring element. The illuminance of the light source is controlled by the variation of the intermittent frequency of the voltage applied to the light source. While the operation is proceeding in the transferring mode, the illuminance of the light source is controlled with the aforementioned intermittent frequency falling within the range of sonic frequency so as to permit variation of the illuminance of the light source in a multiplicity of stages. While the operation is in this mode, the sound of the movable components of the device being operated for scanning cancels the noise generated within the range of sonic frequency.
