摘要： Methods and systems for performing sales transactions using a mobile communications device and without requiring text messaging or paging services are disclosed. In one example, a subscriber desiring to purchase goods or services proceeds to a point of sale device where the purchase price for the goods or services is totaled. The subscriber then initiates a voice call with a central transaction server. The subscriber provides a point of sale device identifier and the purchase price to the central transaction server. The central transaction server contacts a local transaction server using the identifier provided by the subscriber. The central transaction server also prompts the subscriber to select the payment account for the transaction and verifies that the subscriber has sufficient credit to purchase the goods or services. The central transaction server locates a pending transaction entry in a database local to the point of sale using the device identifier provided by the subscriber. Upon locating the pending transaction entry and verifying that the subscriber has sufficient credit, the central transaction server notifies the subscriber and the point of sale device that the transaction is complete.

The method includes, at a signaling node that includes at least one processor: receiving a first signaling message that includes a toll-free called party number, where the first signaling message is one of a non-TCAP call setup message, a mobility management query, a number portability (NP) query, and an E.164 number (ENUM) query; determining a directory number associated with the toll-free called party number; and sending the first signaling message or a second signaling message, the sent message including at least one of the directory number and routing information associated with the directory number.

According to one method, control of access to streaming media content to a subscriber terminal via a BCMCS may be implemented at a network element, such as an authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) server or a BCMCS controller. The method may include receiving a message associated with a request for access to streaming media content by a requesting mobile subscriber. Mobile subscriber identification and requested content identification information are determined from the message. The mobile subscriber identification is used to identify a content viewing rule for the requesting mobile subscriber. The content identification is used to determine whether allowing the subscriber to view the content would violate the content viewing rule.

According to one aspect of the present invention, when a user pauses playback of a video on a video frame, the hypervideo media player is adapted to query a hyperdata function and request hyperlinked object information associated with the paused video frame. The hyperdata function is adapted to respond to the query with hyperlinked object information for the paused video frame. The hypervideo media player receives the hyperlinked object information and updates the paused video frame to display the hyperlinked object information. When the user selects a hyperlinked object, the hypervideo media player is adapted to perform the hyperlink action associated with the selected hyperlinked object. When the user resumes playback of the video, the hyperlinked object information may be discarded or cached for later viewing.

A network routing node, such as a signaling gateway (SG), intercepts call setup signaling messages. An arbitrage detector/processor examines parameters contained in an intercepted message to identify the presence of call routing arbitrage. For messages that indicate the presence of call routing arbitrage, the arbitrage detector/processor may perform a mitigating action, including redirecting the call to an interactive voice response (IVR) node, blocking the call, and/or inserting missing information in the call setup message and completing the call.

A method for improving media trunk utilization for calls directed to ported numbers includes receiving a call setup message associated with the call in a communications network and determining whether the call setup message is directed to a ported number. In response to determining that the call is directed to a ported number, called party information is extracted from the call setup message. A lookup is performed in a number portability database using the called party information to locate a routing number for the called party. A media trunk is selected for the call based on the routing number. The call is then routed through a media gateway associated with the media trunk.

A central processing platform creates and distributes signaling message filter criteria information to a plurality of link monitoring modules (LMM). The filter criteria are asserted at a LMM and a matching signaling message is copied and subsequently transmitted to the central processing platform. Central processing platform receives the matching signaling message and uses information contained therein to create and distribute a second signaling message filter criteria. In such a manner, a call trace sequence is compiled and displayed. A billing subsystem is also disclosed and is adapted to generate a billing record based on information contained with one or more of the messages associated with the call trace sequence.

According to one method, a signaling message routing node obtains information associated with a subscriber. The signaling message routing node receives a first subscriber information management message including a message destination and being associated with the subscriber.
