    • A stick-slip piezo motor. A piezo housing holds at least two piezo elements. The piezo elements are both rigidly connected to the piezo housing. At the end of each of the piezo elements is a piezo friction element. Each of the piezo friction elements is in friction contact with a moving friction element. While oscillating between a stick phase and a slip phase, both of the friction elements operate in conjunction to move the moving friction element in a desired travel direction. The piezo elements oscillate out of phase such that when one of the oscillating piezo elements is operating in the slip phase and moving in a direction opposite to the desired travel direction, the other oscillation piezo element is operating in the stick phase and is moving in the travel direction in order to counteract and overcome unwanted dragging of the moving piezo element. In one preferred embodiment, the travel direction is a linear. In another preferred embodiment the travel direction is rotational. In another preferred embodiment, more than two piezo elements are utilized to operation in conjunction to move the moving friction element in a desired travel direction.

    • Shears having a locking mechanism which ensures self-locking closure without any light gap. A tumbler (24) on one limb of the shears pivoted by a slide button (22) has a cam surface (34) interacting in a self-locking manner with a catch groove (28) on a cam surface (32) on the other limb (14). The catch groove (28) can have a larger configuration in the direction of closure. An arched cam surface may also be provided, which is eccentrically located in relation to the pivoting axis of the tumbler. A fine locking device (50) for the slide button may be provided so the slide button can be fixed in different closed positions to prevent unintentional closure in the open position.

    • In order to control ink application in a printing press, a sheet (3) printed by the printing press (1) is colorimetrically measured in a number of pixels (4) with respect to a selected color coordinate system that has been expanded to be four-dimensional by also taking into account an infrared component. Color difference vectors with respect to the desired color vectors, predefined or determined from a reference sheet (3) and referred to the same color coordinate system, are computed from the color vectors obtained for each pixel (4). A sensitivity matrix is determined for each measured pixel (4) of the sheet (3). The pixels (4) are classified by sensitivity class. The color difference vectors and sensitivity matrices of the pixels (4) pertaining to the same sensitivity class are averaged for each sensitivity class, and input parameters, in particular film thickness modification vectors, are computed from the averaged color difference vectors and averaged sensitivity matrices of all sensitivity classes for a control unit (9) of the inking mechanisms of the printing press (1). The inking of the printing press (1) is then controlled on the basis of the input parameters thus computed.

    • The deliveries to the printing ink industry of pigment preparations in the form of flushed pastes increasingly take the form of containers. Given the required high pigment content of the pastes and the attendant high viscosity and thixotropy, there are very frequent problems with filling the containers and complaints concerning the emptying of the containers. There is a demand for a homogeneous, pumpable pigment paste having a long shelf life. According to the invention, this demand is met in the case of pigments based on arylpararosanillnesulfonic acids by the use of specific aids of the type of the condensation products of aliphatic amines or ammonium compounds with polyesters of hydroxy fatty acids as part of the flushing process of the pigment using the customary or slightly modified binder systems which for the same pigment contents bring about a distinctly lower viscosity and thixotropy. The printing properties are not adversely affected.
