    • Apparatuses, methods, and computer readable media are disclosed for fragmentation of media access control service data units (MSDU) in a high-efficiency wireless local-area network. An apparatus of a access point or station comprising memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory is disclosed. The processing circuitry is configured to fragment a media access control (MAC) service data unit (MSDU) into two or more MSDU fragments, and encapsulate the two or more MSDU fragments into two or more aggregated MSDUs (A-MSDUs); one or more A-MSDUs and one or more MAC protocol data units (MPDUs); or, two or more MPDUs. The processing circuitry may be further configured to encode a delimiter in front of a first fragment of the two or more MSDU fragments, where the delimiter indicates a length of the two or more MSDU fragments, and to encode each MPDU to comprise a sequence number.

    • Apparatuses, methods, and computer readable media for restriction of upload traffic in a high-efficiency wireless local-area network are disclosed. A high-efficiency (HE) wireless local area network (HEW) device including circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to generate a HE packet comprising a first indication of whether a random access is allowed, and generate the HE packet with a second indication of a type of packet allowed in the random access, if random access is allowed. A HE station including circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to receive a HE packet from a access point, the packet comprising an indication of whether random access is permitted during a transmission opportunity, and determine based on the HE packet whether the random access is allowed, and if the random access period is not allowed, then return to a power saving mode without decoding the rest of the HE packet.

    • Embodiments of the invention provide signaling mechanisms for wireless networks composed of a large number of stations. An example method embodiment comprises: receiving by a wireless terminal device, a first message from an access point, the first message comprising information indicating a plurality of restricted access windows, each allocated for a different group of terminal devices associated to a wireless network managed by the access point; receiving by the terminal device, a second message from the access point, within a restricted access window of the plurality of restricted access windows, the restricted access window allocated to a group of terminal devices of which the terminal device is a member, the second message comprising information indicating that a communications channel is available; and determining by the terminal device, based on the second message, that the communications channel is not occupied by hidden ones of the terminal devices associated to the network.
