    • An information recording device for recording the recording information on a recording medium having a recording surface where recording can be performed optically. The information recording device includes a laser light source and a conversion optical system for converting the laser beam emitted from the laser light source into a planar laser beam having an optical flux cross section extending linearly. The information recording device further includes: one-dimensional space modulation elements (3) for subjecting the planar laser beam to one-dimensional space modulation according to the recording information; and a recording optical system for applying the planer laser beam subjected to the spatial modulation, as a signal light (Ls) to the recording surface while applying a reference light (Lr) to the recording surface.

    • An information reproducing apparatus, in which a disk having correction data recorded thereon is placed, acquires region information indicative of a region corresponding to the correction data after load processing is performed by a ROM loader. Then, under the control of a CPU, the apparatus determines the correction data to be used for correcting a reproducing program based on the region information, reads the correction data from a lead out area or its outer region on the disk, temporarily retains the read correction data in a first RAM or a second RAM, and then stores the correction data to be resident in a nonvolatile first flash memory or a second flash memory, to correct the reproducing program based on the correction data. The information reproducing apparatus thereafter reproduces user data recorded on the disk according to the corrected reproducing program.

    • A compatible hologram system has a supporting part for loadably supporting a recording medium made of a photosensitive material, a signal generating part for allowing a coherent beam modulated in response to predetermined data to enter the recording medium and providing a three-dimensional light interference pattern therewithin to produce a diffraction grating, and a data processing part for detecting reproduced data by diffracted light from the diffraction grating and demodulating the data to the predetermined data. The recording medium has a reference data area in which a reference diffraction grating corresponding to a three-dimensional light interference pattern of a coherent light beam modulated in response to reference data has been stored in advance, a sector data area in which sector data is recorded, and a user data area in which user data is recorded. The hologram system corrects the reproduced data in response to the reference data reproduced from the reference diffraction grating stored in the reference data area, the sector data reproduced from the sector area, and reference data provided within a reference memory of the data processing part, and demodulates the data to the predetermined data.
