    • A golf ball has a surface on which numerous dimples are arranged with any dimple being surrounded by a plurality of adjoining dimples. Mutually adjoining dimples, each defined by a peripheral edge, have disposed therebetween an edge element which forms part of the peripheral edge. When the golf ball is manufactured with a two-part mold having two halves, the edge elements on or near a ball equator coincident with a parting line between the mold halves are continuously interconnected along the equator and some of the edge elements intersect the equator. The golf ball has dimple effects which enhance its aerodynamic performance and thus increase its carry.

    • A golf ball of the type having a large number of convex parts projecting from the spherical surface, the convex parts assuming a round or non-round shape as viewed from above, wherein the improvement includes a large number of convex parts which are arranged such that the upper surface of the convex part has a certain radius of curvature and coincides with a hypothetical spherical surface covering the spherical surface, at least part of a large number of convex parts form a string of convex parts connected to each other through a part thereof, and the strings of convex parts form at least one great circle which is substantially F continuous on the spherical surface. This golf ball is novel in appearance and excellent in flight performance.

    • An NTSC/PAL signal discriminating circuit automatically adjusts the trap center frequency of an active filter in accordance with the frequency of an input signal. The discriminating circuit operates to generate a signal of an amplitude corresponding to the frequency of an input signal and discriminating, in accordance with the amplitude of the signal thus generated, whether the input signal is a subcarrier signal of the NTSC format or that of the PAL format. The trap center frequency of the active filter is then adjusted in accordance with such discrimination output, and the value of a correction signal for switching the operation mode of a chrominance synchronizing circuit and so forth; wherein automatic adjustment is executed to perform a predetermined operation in each mode of the NTSC and PAL signals without the necessity of inputting any external NTSC/PAL switching signal.

    • The invention provides a golf ball with a surface having a plurality of dimples formed thereon. Some or all of the dimples on the ball surface have a cross-sectional shape in which, letting a straight line passing through any one edge of the dimple and a foot of a perpendicular (pedal) dropped from an imaginary plane defined by a peripheral edge of the dimple to a deepest point of the dimple serve as a reference line, and establishing a plurality of specific regions on the reference line from the dimple edge as 0% to the pedal as 100%, the average depths of the dimple from the reference line in the respective established regions satisfy specific conditions. By reducing the air resistance during flight and thus enhancing the aerodynamic performance, this golf ball achieves a higher trajectory, enabling the ball to travel further.
