The system employs a Frequency-division duplex (FDD) scheme that allows identical wideband modems to communicate with each other. To achieve this, the wideband modems contain a duplexer and a switch that allows reversing the connection of the wideband transmitter and receiver to the duplexer. Each wideband modem includes a control modem that is used to control access to the wideband channels. A wideband transmitter, which may be included in a modem associated with a server set-top terminal (STT), transmits a video presentation to a wideband receiver, which may be included in a modem associated with a client STT.

摘要： A battery pack (10) having a protruding battery contact (14) is provided with a disconnect switch circuit. The circuit comprises at least one battery cell (22), and a mechanical switch (24) which controls .ang.operation of an electronic switch circuit (36). A latch member (16) is provided for attaching the battery pack to a device to be powered, and is moveable between a first and second position, and is biased by a spring means to the first position. In the first position, the latch member acts on the mechanical switch such that the electronic switch circuit disconnects the battery contact from the battery cell or cells. When the latch member is moved to the second position (17), the circuit operates to connect the battery contact to the battery cell or cells.

摘要： Fluorinated 1-hydroxy-2-naphthamide couplers which are N-substituted with a lower alkylphenoxybutyl ballasting group are disclosed as well as compositions and photographic elements containing these couplers in coupler solvent particles. The coupler solvent particles are comprised of a combination of a coupler solvent and the coupler capable of permitting the formation of a microcrystalline dye. Surprisingly these microcrystalline dyes exhibit a broadened absorption characteristic in the 750 to 850 nm region of the spectrum. Dye images having such absorption characteristics are particularly suited to forming integral infrared absorbing sound tracks in photographic elements, such as motion picture projection films.
