    • A continuous-flow steam generator includes a combustion chamber of rectangular cross-section and combustion-chamber walls each having essentially vertically disposed evaporator tubes through which a flow medium can flow from the bottom towards the top. The tubes are connected to one another in a gas-tight manner by tube webs. In order to equalize a differing supply of heat into the evaporator tubes, a heat-absorbing surface formed from an individual evaporator tube and from the tube web assigned to that tube is smaller in the case of evaporator tubes in a middle region of the combustion-chamber wall than at a corner of the combustion chamber.

    • A continuous steam generator is provided. The continuous steam generator includes a number of burners for fossil fuels, the outside wall thereof being fully or partially formed from steam generator tubes welded together in a gas-tight manner. The burners are arranged in a combustion chamber, and a vertical gas duct is mounted downstream of the combustion chamber above a horizontal gas duct on the hot gas side. A first part of the steam generating tubes forms a system of evaporation tubes mounted upstream of a water separator system, on the flow medium side, and a second side, and a second part of the steam generating tubes forms a system of superheater tubes mounted downstream of the water separator system on the flow medium side. Superheater tubes adjacent and parallel to evaporation tubes are mounted directly downstream of the water separator system on the flow medium side.

The invention improves the steam generator such that it is possible to attain a high operational flexibility, a particularly reduced start- and load-alternation time, including starting operation or light load phases and to maintain a low-cost production. Each output collector comprises an integrated water separating element by means of which said collector is connected, on the side of flowing medium, to a plurality of downstream arranged overheating pipes of an overheating surface.

According to the invention, superheater tubes are connected downstream of the evaporator tubes on the flow medium side by means of a water separator system. The aim of the invention is to provide a system with particularly high degree of operational flexibility even in the start-up and off-peak periods, whilst keeping the production and installation expenditure relatively low. To achieve this, the water separator system comprises a large number of water separator elements, each of which is connected downstream or upstream of less than ten evaporator tubes, preferably one tube and/or less than ten superheater tubes, preferably one tube on the flow medium side.
