摘要： An image display medium including a pair of substrates, a transparent dispersion medium, one or more kind of colored particles and larger sized colored particles. The pair of substrates is disposed with a separation therebetween and at least one of the pair of substrates is transparent. The dispersion medium is transparent and enclosed between the pair of substrates. Each kind of the colored particles is colored a predetermined color, is dispersed in the dispersion medium, has predetermined charge characteristics or predetermined magnetic properties, and is able to migrate between the pair of substrates. The larger sized colored particles have a different color and a larger particle size than the colored particles, are disposed so that the colored particles are able to pass through the separation, have charge characteristics or magnetic properties which are different from those of the colored particles, and are able to move.

摘要： A display device includes: a display medium including a pair of substrates disposed with a distance therebetween, at least one of the substrates having translucency, a dispersion medium that is disposed between the pair of substrates, and a particle group that is dispersed in the dispersion medium and moved in the dispersion medium according to an electric field formed by applying a voltage exceeding a predetermined threshold voltage between the pair of substrates; a voltage applying unit that applies a voltage between the pair of substrates; and a control unit that controls the voltage applying unit. The control unit controls the voltage applying unit so as to apply a first voltage exceeding the threshold voltage between the pair of substrates, then to apply a voltage equal to or lower in magnitude than the threshold voltage but having a polarity that is the reverse to the polarity of the first voltage.

摘要： An ink-jet recording apparatus jetts an ink droplet from a free surface of an ink material by propagating a surface acoustic wave. The apparatus includes a substrate, a slant face formed on the substrate, The slant face contacts the ink material with a grade in use. A vibration generator for generating plural surface acoustic waves, is formed on the substrate away from the ink material in use, and the plural surface acoustic waves are propagated along with the substrate and changed into plural longitudinal waves having propagating directions in the ink material. The propagating directions will be concentrated at a certain portion within the ink material.
