    • A cyclone dust collecting apparatus has a cyclone body having an air inlet for drawing in, contaminant-laden air and an air outlet connected with a vacuum suction source. The vacuum provided by the vacuum source draws air from the air outlet, which passes through the cyclone body from the air inlet. As the air flows through the cyclone body, it forms a whirling stream in the cyclone body. The whirling stream creates a centrifugal force on particles that are suspended in the air, which, because of their greater mass, causes them to become separated from air that is drawn out of the whirling stream and into the air outlet by the vacuum source. The air outlet is provided with a passage guide member arranged in the air outlet that reduces the speed of air discharged via the air outlet and also for guiding a flow streamline. The passage guide member reduces a pressure loss by a turbulence flow generated during discharging a cleaned air such that load of vacuum suction resource decreases and power consumption for operating the cyclone dust collecting apparatus can be reduced.

    • The cyclone-type dust-collecting apparatus for a vacuum cleaner according to the disclosed invention has a grill cleaning means for automatically removing fine dusts covering the grill when the cleaner is in use. The grill cleaning means preferably comprises a grill rotating means for rotating the grill while the cleaner is in use and a dusting member disposed to extend along one side of the inner cyclone body to contact the outer circumference of the rotating grill. The grill rotating means comprises a rotation member disposed at top of the cyclone body to rotatably support the grill in relation to the cyclone body and to rotate together with the grill, connected with the grill by a number of connection members, and having an upper surface of the cyclone body excluding the air discharge port positioned in between, and provided with a gear portion formed around the outer circumference, a driving source for providing driving force for rotating the rotation member, and a power transferring means for transferring power of the driving source to the rotation member. The driving source may comprise a turbine fan disposed in the discharge pipe of the air discharge unit to be rotated by air discharged through the discharge pipe.

    • A cyclone dust separating apparatus and a vacuum cleaner with the same is disclosed. The cyclone dust separating apparatus includes a first cyclone for separating large dust particles from air, a plurality of second cyclones for separating minute dust particles from air via a centrifugal force after dust separation at the first cyclone, and a cover disposed on an upper portion of the first cyclone and the second cyclones. The cover includes a conical guide formed at a lower center to guide air discharged from the first cyclone into the second cyclones. Because drawn-in air is repeatedly cleaned by a plurality of cyclones, the cyclone dust separating apparatus can be provided with a compact structure, can provide an effective cleaning operation, and can prevent deterioration of a suction force.
