    • A dry shaver includes a perforated outer shearing foil and an inner cutter. The outer shearing foil has a first axis along which it is arcuately curved. The inner cutter has a longitudinal axis along which it is arcuately curved to have an arcuate contour in conformity with the outer shearing foil and is driven to reciprocate in hair shearing engagement with the outer shearing foil. The inner cutter comprises a plurality of inner blades which are spaced along the longitudinal axis in parallel relation to each other, each of the blades having opposed first and second faces each defining a cutting edge at its upper end so that the individual cutting edges are cooperative to define the arcuate contour. Each inner blade, which is offset from a longitudinal center of the inner cutter, is formed with a first face directing outwardly in the offset direction with an undercut immediately adjacent to the cutting edge. The undercut cooperates with the adjacent cutting edge to give an first rake angle .beta. with respect to the vertical plane as well as to give a true rake angle .delta. with respect to a plane normal to the curvature of the arcuate contour of the inner cutter at the contact between the adjacent cutting edge and the outer shearing foil.

    • A hand-held clipper for removing entangled fibers from the surface of fabrics has a grip handle with a cutting head. The cutting head comprises a perforated shear foil and cutter blades rotating in shearing engagement with the interior face of the shear foil. The shear foil is curved into a generally semi-cylindrical configuration having a longitudinal axis and define first and second side faces on the opposite sides of a curved top portion. The cutter blade has a cutting edge extending along the longitudinal axis of the shear foil and is driven to rotate in one direction about a rotations axis, which is common to the longitudinal axis of the shear foil, so as to move along the curved shear foil continuously from the first side face toward the second side faces. The first side face thus located rearwardly of the top portion of shear foil with respect to the rotating direction of the cutter blades is configured to have perforations larger than in the second side face located forwardly of the top portion in the rotating direction such that the entangled fibers once entered through the perforations in the first side face and clipped by the cutter blades can be well prevented from flowing outwardly through the perforations in the second or opposite side face of the shear foil.

    • A cleaning system for cleaning an operator head of a hair removing apparatus such as a dry shaver. The system includes a cleaning device having a housing configured to hold the shaver upside down to place the operator head in a basin for cleaning the same with a liquid supplied from a tank. The apparatus incorporates an externally controllable electric circuit for driving the operator head in accordance with an external electric signal generated by a controller within the device. The device's housing has a signal transmitting means for transmitting the electric signal, while the apparatus has a signal receiving means which comes into electrical interconnection with the signal transmitting means. The signal receiving means is disposed intermediate the height of the apparatus such that the electrical interconnection can be made within the height of the apparatus, requiring no extra height dimension to the system for the electrical interconnection.

    • A cleaning device utilizes a cleaning liquid composed of a solute dissolved in a solution for cleaning an operator head of a hair removing apparatus. The device includes a housing configured to hold the hair removing apparatus, a basin mounted in the housing for receiving therein the operator head, and a tank storing the solution or the liquid. A circulator is provided to circulate the cleaning liquid between the tank and the basin. The device includes a container which is configured to hold the solute and is formed separately from the tank. The container is disposed in a circulation path between the basin and the tank in order to replenish the solute into the circulating solution or the liquid. Thus, the solute can be constantly supplied to the solution or the cleaning liquid for maintaining the cleaning effect over a prolonged period of use and for easy replenishment of the solute, eliminating the necessity of replacing the whole cleaning liquid.
