摘要： A wiper for use in a container for pasty products, such as mascara, lip gloss, eyeshadow, dental or oral care products, ointments, or the like, which wiper allows for the wiping of excess product from an applicator as the applicator is withdrawn from a container, but does not wipe the applicator as it is placed into the container. The wiper of the present invention comprises two or more flaps capable of occupying a first scraping position, when the applicator is withdrawn from the container, and a second non-scraping position, when the applicator is returned to the container.The non-scraping position of the flaps allows the applicator to be placed into the container without being wiped. This characteristic reduces the build-up of product within the neck of the container, thus providing a cleaner, aesthetically pleasing package for the consumer to use.

The applicator includes a handle, a first roller having a broad concave surface at one end of the handle, and a second, ball-like roller having a convex surface, at the opposite end of the handle. The first roller, having a greater axial length and surface area than does the second roller is intended for applying a cosmetic to broader convex areas of the skin. The second roller, having a lesser axial dimension and surface area as compared with the first roller is intended for distributing a cosmetic to the narrower, concave areas of the skin. The first roller is mounted on the applicator so as to rotate about a fixed axis lateral to the longitudinal axis of the applicator, and will move in straight paths along the skin, in line with the longitudinal axis of the applicator. The second, ball-like roller is mounted on the applicator so as to travel along both straight and curved paths, automatically adjusting between positions as the applicator is moved along the skin surface.

The empty pan is temporarily expanded by applying vacuum to a bottom and sidewalls of the pan. The cake of cosmetic is inserted in the expanded pan and the pan is released from the vacuum. The pan contracts toward the smaller size and thus traps and holds the cake in the compact.

The button also turns on a light that is effective to activate the product as it is being dispensed from the dropper.

摘要： A case for a stick product which comprises an inner sleeve having a wall and two longitudinal tracks within the wall, each longitudinal track is positioned approximately circumferentially opposite with respect to the other. An outer sleeve is fitted about the inner sleeve so as to be able to rotate with respect to the inner sleeve. The outer sleeve has an inner wall, an outer wall, and four helical grooves along the inner wall. A holder cup for the stick product is fitted into the inner sleeve. The holder cup comprises a shell having an inner surface, an outer surface, a first set of lugs, and a second set of lugs, wherein one lug from each set extends through the same longitudinal track to engage one of the four helical grooves. By providing two set of lugs, as opposed to the traditional one set, skewing of the holder cup is dramatically reduced. When the holder cup travels along its axial path between the advanced and retracted positions, the torque experienced by the first set of lugs is equal and opposite to the torque experienced by the second set of lugs. The two opposing forces cancel each other and keep the holder cup steady during travel within the case, thus reducing the possibility of damaging the stick product.
