    • A method, system, and computer program product for a remote request dispatcher (RRD) extension framework to transparently invoke container technologies in a multiple application server environment is provided. The method includes executing a local component on a local application server that contains a reference to a remote component on a remote application server. The method also includes receiving a request at the local component for the remote component to perform an action, locating a remote container associated with the referenced remote component, building an RRD request object on the local application server, adding an extension to the RRD request object, and sending the RRD request object with the extension to the remote application server. Furthermore, the method includes receiving the RRD request object with the extension on the remote application server, building an RRD response object, adding an extension handler response extension to the RRD response object, and sending the RRD response object to the local application server.

    • The present invention relates to a method and respective system for sharing data between portlets within a portal. In general, a method in accordance with an embodiment of the invention includes: generating a visual representation, indicating for a predetermined first portlet a portlet property indicating whether or not the first portlet shares data with a second portlet; displaying the visual representation at the web page rendering the first portlet; and/or generating a user control, allowing to switch ON and switch OFF the ability of the first portlet to share data with the second portlet, and performing portlet integration in dependence of the portlet property.

    • The present invention relates to the field of network computing, and in particular to Web contents accessible via a portal. It particularly relates to a method and system for restoring content represented by time-dependently varied fragments of portlets aggregated in web pages of such web portal.It is proposed to enable a user to set a portlet into a “content recovery mode”. A respective user action on a respective GUI control (50) creates a URI that allows the portlet to generate its output as currently seen. The user may then send this URL to a friend, who can access the desired portlet output at any given time. Or, the user may save it at the own computer.

    • In a method of and system for enforcing authentication strength for remote portlets, a portlet is provided by a producer portal and consumed as remote portlet by a consumer portal. The producer portal defines an authentication strength level requirement for the portlet. A user requests the remote portlet from the consumer portal. The consumer portal authenticates the user with a particular authentication method that implies a particular authentication strength level. The producer portal authenticates the consumer portal with a particular authentication method that implies a particular authentication strength assertion level. The consumer portal requests the portlet from the producer portal with an assertion of the authentication strength level of the user. The producer portal rejects the request from the consumer portal if the authentication strength level of the user is less than the authentication strength level requirement for the portlet. The producer portal also rejects the request from the consumer portal if the authentication strength assertion level of the consumer portal is not high enough to assert the authentication strength level of the user. The producer portal accepts the request from the consumer portal only if the authentication strength level of the user is not less than the authentication strength level requirement for the portlet and the authentication strength assertion level of the consumer portal is high enough to assert the authentication strength level of the user.

In order to overcome these disadvantages, it is proposed that a Portal according to the invention performs some mining of the portlet markup and/or that of the portlet description in order to autonomously compute and propose an enhanced portal content structure. This helps to provide a user-friendly content structure that reflects well the relationships between portlets.

    • The present invention relates to network computing and in particular to a method and respective system for operating a Web Services search method in a networked environment—in particular the Internet, wherein a Service Broker is requested by a Service Consumer for offering Web Services, and a Service Provider provides a requested Web Service to the Service Consumer, and wherein a Service Provider registers Web Services at the Service Broker and wherein the Web Services are implemented preferably by respective Remote Portlets running on a Portal Server of the Service Provider. In order to increase the search precision and the recall rate it is proposed to perform the steps of: a) retrieving data mining input data relating to description details of the inquired Web Services from respective Service descriptions of the inquired Web Services, b) performing a data mining function on said data mining input data, wherein a clustering is performed with a distance calculation function including said description details and wherein the clustering yields a cluster model comprising a plurality of clusters and a mapping for each Web Service to one of said clusters, wherein Web Services having a similar semantic meaning are collected in a single cluster, yielding a data mining result, c) adding cluster information comprised of said data mining result to a service model and storing this cluster information in a database, d) offering search response data based on said cluster model and service model.
