    • The disclosure relates to automatically configuring a map of inter-access technology neighbor relations. In this neighbor relations map configured by an ANDSF, relationships between neighboring cells of differing access networks of the same or different access technologies are maintained including extra-domain and non-domain neighbor relationships. A domain refers to a domain of one or more access technologies in which ANDSF is not required for intra-domain access selection and discovery. ANDSF configures the map based on neighbor relations data reports from wireless terminals, which record the neighbor relations data as they perform extra-domain or non-domain handovers or reselections or as they scan their surroundings. ANDSF provides steering instructions to configure the neighbor relations data recording and reporting behaviors of the wireless terminals. ANDSF provides access network discovery and selection information, which indicates availability of non-domain accesses, and in some cases domain accesses, to wireless terminals based on their locations.

    • The invention provides a method for assisting handover of a user terminal's, UT's, communication session in an integrated multi RAT network, said method to be carried out by an RNCI being installed in said network, said method comprising the following steps:— receiving a “Handover Candidate” message comprising a message type identifier information element identifying said message as being a “Handover Candidate” message and which message identifies said session and which message further identifies a candidate RNC of said network, wherein said candidate RNC constitutes an RNC handover candidate for said session,— establishing the identity of said RNC by investigating said message,— associating said communication session with said candidate RNC identified in the previous step.     • In an example embodiment, a network node transmits secondary signal component of a combined wireless communication signal to a user equipment. The combined wireless communication signal includes the secondary signal component and a primary signal component. Secondary pilot resources of the secondary signal component are dynamically shifted relative to primary pilot resources of the primary signal component by an amount that is based on whether a current estimation procedure at the user equipment is a primary channel estimation procedure or a secondary channel estimation procedure. In a corresponding example embodiment, the user equipment receives the combined wireless communication signal with the dynamically shifted pilot resources. The user equipment estimates the primary channel in the primary channel estimation procedure and estimates the secondary channel in the secondary channel estimation procedure.
