    • A computer system for preventing data loss that includes: a first storage system having a data storage extent for storing data sent from a host computer; a second storage system having at least one actual replicated data storage extent associated with the data storage extent; an archive appliance having a storage medium associated with the replicated data storage extent in the second storage system; and a data copy unit for controlling copy processing for reading data from the data storage extent in the first storage system and writing the read data to a first actual replicated data storage extent in the second storage system in accordance with specific configuration information. The system also has a connection switching unit for changing the specific configuration information so that a second actual replicated data storage extent, instead of the first actual replicated data storage extent, is associated with the data storage extent.

    • A computer system comprises a storage subsystem, a host computer and a management computer, and stores catalogue information containing correspondence between a first volume for data reading or writing and a second volume for storing a copy of the data stored in the first volume. The management computer requests the storage subsystem to erase the data stored in the first volume upon reception of an erasure request of the data stored in the first volume. The storage subsystem erases the data stored in the first volume. The management computer specifies a second volume for storing the copy of the data stored in the first volume based on the catalogue information. The storage subsystem erases data stored in the specified second volume. Thus, security risks are reduced by erasing data regarding the data when the data stored in the volume is erased.

    • There is provided a logical volume management method for storage system. When a logical volume is created on a flash memory drive, a management computer allocates logical volume while flash memory chip border of flash memory drive is taken into account. Specifically, a table for managing a correlation between each parity group and the flash memory chip of the flash memory drive is obtained and the logical volume is allocated in such a manner that a flash memory chip is not shared by a plurality of logical volumes. When complete erasing of logical volume data is performed, the management computer specifies a flash memory chip on which complete data erasing is to be performed, and the storage system completely erases data exclusively on the chip of interest with a use of a function of completely erasing data at a time by chip unit of the flash memory chip (chip erasing).
