    • There are provided a tape cartridge-holding mechanism which is capable of reliably and immovably holding a tape cartridge in a cartridge compartment without spoiling the ease of mounting and removal of the tape cartridge, and a tape printing apparatus including the tape cartridge-holding mechanism. The tape cartridge-holding mechanism comprises a lid for opening/closing a cartridge compartment, at least one pair of left and right holding nails for engaging with a tape cartridge mounted in the cartridge compartment and thereby sandwiching the tape cartridge such that the holding nails press the tape cartridge against a bottom surface of the cartridge compartment, and an urging mechanism arranged in contact with at least one of the pair of holding nails, for urging the holding nail in a direction of sandwiching the tape cartridge as closing operation of the lid is carried out.

    • There is provided a rotary type regenerative heat exchanger which can effectively prevent an air bypass leak or a gas bypass leak. A rotary type regenerative heat exchanger of the present invention has a rotor (4) rotating around a central shaft (2), a heat accumulator (8) which is constructed in a manner that an air (A) of being a heated fluid and a gas (G) of being a heating fluid filled in the rotor alternately pass therethrough by a rotation of the rotor to repeat heat accumulation and radiation, and a housing provided so as to house the rotor. Further, the rotary type regenerative heat exchanger comprises: a branch pipe (41, 47, 55) for taking out a part of the heating fluid; a seal gas fan (42, 48, 56) for pressurizing the taken-out heating fluid to a predetermined pressure; and a seal gas introducing duct (46, 52) which is provided in the housing so as to introduce the pressurized heating fluid into a predetermined space formed between the rotor and the housing.

    • On printer (20), tape cartridge (4) is detachable relative to mounting unit (5). Mounting unit (5) is covered by cover (22). When cover (22) is closed, its protrusion (51) rotates rotary component (54), and its operating edge (54b) moves moving component (55). When operating edge (54b) moves over the top edge of surface A of guiding surface (55a) of the moving component, the cover is completely closed. Subsequently, rotary component (54) is guided to surface B, where it is held in a coupled state. In conjunction with moving component (55), head carrier component (59) rotates, and head (6) located at the tip of the head carrier component becomes fixed at the print position. In the condition in which a print position is formed, rotary component (54) is off from protrusion (51) of the cover. Therefore, no load acts from the side of head (6) onto the side of cover (22). When cover-opening button (24) is pushed down, rotary component (54) disengages from surface B of the moving component, thus creating a condition in which the head has been released.

    • An evaporative fuel-processing system for an internal combustion engine includes a canister for adsorbing evaporative fuel generated in the fuel tank, a charging passage connecting between the canister and the fuel tank, a purging passage connecting between the canister and the intake system of the engine, an open-to-atmosphere passage for communicating the canister with atmosphere, a charge control valve for selectively opening and closing the charging passage, a purge control valve for selectively opening and closing the purging passage, and a vent shut valve for selectively opening and closing the open-to-atmosphere valve, and a pressure sensor inserted in the charging passage at a location on one side of the charge control valve closer to the fuel tank, for detecting internal pressure within the charging passage. When predetermined conditions are satisfied, the purge control valve is closed and the charge control valve and the vent shut valve are opened. It is determined that the vent shut valve is abnormal when the internal pressure detected by the pressure sensor is below a predetermined negative pressure value while the purge control valve, the charge control valve, and the vent shut valve are in the above respective states.
