    • The present invention provides a low-cost ballast circuit for fluorescent lamps. A resonant circuit has a transformer to operate the fluorescent lamp. The fluorescent lamp is connected in series with a first winding of the transformer. A first transistor and a second transistor are coupled to switch the resonant circuit. A second winding and a third winding of the transformer are used for generating control signals in response to a switching current of the resonant circuit. Furthermore, the present invention achieves soft operation for the first transistor and the second transistor.

    • A switching control circuit for multi-channels and multi-phases power converter according to the present invention comprises a master control circuit and a slave control circuit. The master control circuit generates a multiplier signal in response to an input voltage and an output voltage of the power converter, and generates a first switching signal to switch a first inductor of the power converter in accordance with the multiplier signal and the first-current signal generated by a first current-sense device. The slave control circuit generates a second switching signal to switch a second inductor of the power converter in accordance with the multiplier signal, the first switching signal and a second-current signal generated by a second current-sense device. Once the power converter is at light-load, the multiplier signal is disabled to turn off the second switching signal to turn off the slave control circuit for power saving of the power converter.

    • A high efficiency voltage regulator for generating a regulated output voltage from an AC power source is disclosed. It includes a switch coupled to a voltage source from the AC power source to provide a supply voltage. An input detection circuit is coupled to the voltage source to turn off the switch when the voltage level of the voltage source is higher than a threshold voltage. An output detection circuit is connected to the supply voltage to turn off the switch once the voltage level of the supply voltage is higher than an output-over-voltage threshold. The switch can only be turned on when the voltage level of the voltage source is lower than the threshold voltage and the voltage level of the supply voltage is lower than a hysteresis threshold.

    • A synchronous regulation circuit is provided to improve the efficiency for an offline power converter. A secondary-side switching circuit is coupled to the output of the power converter to generate a synchronous signal and a pulse signal in response to an oscillation signal and a feedback signal. An isolation device transfers the synchronous signal from the secondary side to the primary side of the power converter. A primary-side switching circuit further receives the synchronous signal to generate a switching signal for soft switching a transformer. The pulse signal is utilized to control a synchronous switch for rectifying and regulating the power converter. The synchronous switch includes a power switch and a control circuit. The control circuit receives the pulse signal for turning on/off the power switch. The power switch is connected in between the transformer and the output of the power converter. In addition, a flyback switch is operated as a synchronous rectifier to freewheel the inductor current of the power converter. The flyback switch is turned on in response to the off of the power switch. The on time of flyback switch is correlated to the on time of the power switch.

    • A control circuit for soft switching and synchronous rectifying is provided for power converter. A switching-signal circuit is used for generating drive signals and a pulse signal in response to a leading edge and a trailing edge of a switching signal. The switching signal is developed for regulating the power converter. Drive signals are coupled to switch the power transformer. A propagation delay is developed between drive signals to achieve soft switching of the power converter. An isolation device is coupled to transfer the pulse signal from a primary side of a power transformer to a secondary side of the power transformer. A controller of the integrated synchronous rectifier is coupled to the secondary side of the power transformer for the rectifying operation. The controller is operated to receive the pulse signal for switching on/off the power transistor. The pulse signal is to set or reset a latch circuit of the controller for controlling the power transistor.

    • A switching regulator having an energy saving circuit and an energy saving method is provided to improve the system efficiency under light load conditions. A first control unit outputs an oscillation signal and an energy saving signal in response to the variation of a feedback signal. A second control unit receives the feedback signal and the oscillation signal to output a switching signal to control a switch. An off-time of the switching signal is increased in response to a decrement of the load. The energy saving signal is applied to turn off the switch and the circuits of the switching regulator needn't to work during the off-time of the switching signal for saving energy under light load conditions.
