    • The present invention provides an interchangeable lens mounted on a camera body in an exchangeable manner, and the interchangeable lens includes: an optical system in which a state of a subject light flux incident to the mounted camera body is adjustable by changing an optical state; a contact position detecting unit with a detection plane, which detects a contact state including a contact and a contact position of a finger of a photographer, to detect a change in a contact position on the detection plane in an approximately same direction as an optical axis direction of the optical system; and a lens controller to control an optical state of the optical system according to a contact state of the finger including the contact position detected by the contact position detecting unit.

    • External equipment which constitutes a part of a camera system and which is detachable from a body portion of the camera system is provided. The external equipment includes: a communication unit that communicates with the body portion; a storage unit that stores manipulation information including manipulation image data corresponding to a manipulation type of the camera system and operation information related to an operation of the camera system corresponding to the manipulation type; and a control unit that transmits the manipulation information and the operation information to the body portion when the external equipment is attached to the body portion, causes the camera system to display the manipulation image data on a display unit based on the manipulation information, performs control so that the camera system performs an operation based on the operation information, and performs control so that the manipulation image data is removed from the display unit when the external equipment is detached from the body portion.

    • The microphone system of the invention executes an adaptive filter processing by using output signals from two microphones to output a speaker's voice signal with an improved SN ratio, in which the two microphones are laid out close to each other, and the angles formed by the orientations of the microphones with respect to the speaker's vocalizing direction are made different for each of the microphones. For example, the microphones are mounted on the sun visor of a vehicle, or on the ceiling above the front passenger seat or the driver's seat of the vehicle, with the orientations of the microphones differentiated. Further, the SN ratio of the output signal from one microphone is raised, and the SN ratio of the output signal from the other microphone is lowered. For example, one microphone is positioned right above a speaker's face, and the other microphone is spaced apart on the occipital side by about 1 to 5 cm from the position of the first microphone. Thus, the microphone system improves the SN ratio of the voice signal.

In general, the selected areas are those likely include the main subject. For example, brightness of and distance to the subject are measured in the plural area of the photographic frame. The plural areas are grouped depending on the distance measurements to the subject. Photometric measurements are made for the respective groups using brightness measurements of the subject. One group (the main subject) is selected and the difference in photometric measurement between the selected group and the others is calculated. The evaluation value for evaluating the backlight is changed depending on the position and size of the selected group in the photographic frame.
