摘要： A medical device for placement in an incision. The medical device includes a cannula member configured to be inserted into the incision. The medical device also includes a guide wire holding member having a base member connected to the cannula member. Wall members are connected to said base member and form an open channel along said cannula member. A guide wire or fixation pin can be inserted into the guide wire holding member. The guide wire holding member can be configured as an open c-shaped channel or a plurality of curled tabs to hold the guide wire. The various configurations of the guide wire holding member can be constructed without the use of tapered or flared pins in an injection molding manufacturing process.

摘要： An ultracapacitor energy storage cell pack includes an ultracapacitor assembly including a plurality of parallel ultracapacitors and balancing resistors in series; an enclosure for the ultracapacitor assembly; a controller; one or more temperature sensors; a pack voltage sensor; a GFI sensor; one or more cooling fans carried by the enclosure; an on/off relay coupled to the ultracapacitor assembly and the controller, the on/off relay activated by the controller during normal operation of the ultracapacitor assembly and deactivated by the controller when the GFI sensor detects a ground fault interrupt condition, the one or more temperature sensors detect an over-temperature condition, or the pack voltage sensor detects an over-voltage condition; and a pre-charge resistor and a pre-charge relay coupled to the ultracapacitor assembly and the controller, and activated by the controller to cause the pre-charge resistor to limit pack charge current until the ultracapacitor assembly reaches a minimum voltage.

摘要： Disclosed are systems and methods for performing soft tissue repair by delivering a suture through the soft tissue and underlying bone at two or more fixation points that can be spaced apart from each other and connected by the suture on the surface of the soft tissue. The two or more fixation points and the suture connected there between can be a continuous strand of suture, which can form a stitching assembly that can provide sufficient fixation in the bone and minimize disruption to the soft tissue and bone. In an example, the suture can be delivered into the bone using one or more implants that can catch the suture to drive the suture through the tissue and into the bone. The one or more implants can include structural features to aid in securing the suture to the implant. In an example, the suture can include structural features or be formed of a material to aid in fixation of the suture in the bone.

摘要： A method and tool for forming a hole in a bone. The method includes bringing a bone cutting tool extending along a longitudinal axis into engagement with a cortical portion of the bone. A distal portion of the bone cutting tool is passed into the cortical portion of the bone up to a first predetermined depth to form a first bore. The bone cutting tool is then driven in the axial direction to a second predetermined depth to form a keyway portion in the first bore with a cutting tooth of the bone cutting tool. The bone cutting tool is then rotated about the longitudinal axis to form a second bore in a cancellous portion of the bone. The first bore and the second bore have a shoulder extending therebetween. The bone cutting tool is removed from the hole formed by the first and second bores in the bone.
