Bass frequencies of audio can be boosted using a linear combination of an input audio signal and output of a high-pass filter. For example, bass frequencies of audio can be boosted by applying a high-pass filter to an input audio signal to produce an output of the high-pass filter, determining a current level, determining a target gain amount, dynamically adjusting the input audio signal and the output of the high-pass filter, and combining the gain-adjusted signals to produce an output signal. A dynamic bass boost filter can comprise a high-pass filter and a dynamic boost module.

摘要： A method and apparatus processes multi-channel audio by encoding, transmitting or recording “dry” audio tracks or “stems” in synchronous relationship with time-variable metadata controlled by a content producer and representing a desired degree and quality of diffusion. Audio tracks are compressed and transmitted in connection with synchronized metadata representing diffusion and preferably also mix and delay parameters. The separation of audio stems from diffusion metadata facilitates the customization of playback at the receiver, taking into account the characteristics of local playback environment.

摘要： Loudness-based compensation systems and techniques are described which provide audio compensation in noisy environments. Loudness approximations are determined for an audio block both by itself and in the presence of background noise. These approximations utilize compression of audio intensity within frequency bands in order to better reflect listeners' hearing perception. From these loudness approximations, a gain is determined for the audio block and then applied in such a manner that the effect is not jarring to listeners.

摘要： Coding of high quality stereophonic audio signals is accomplished in a perceptual filterbank coder which exploits the interchannel redundancies and psychoacoustic. Using perceptual principles, switching between a normal and short window of input samples improve output signal quality for certain input signals, particularly those having a rapid attack. Switching is also accomplished between coding of left and right channels and so- called sum and difference channels in response to particular signal conditions. A number of new perceptually based techniques, including improved threshold determinations, result in high quality.

摘要： A signal processing arrangement is connected to a microphone array to form at least one directable beam sound receiver. The directable beam sound receivers are adapted to receive sounds from predetermined locations in a prescribed environment such as auditorium. Signals representative of prescribed sound features received from the plurality of predetermined locations are generated and one or more of the locations is selected responsive to the sound feature signals. A plurality of directable beam sound receivers may be used to concurrently analyze sound features from the predetermined locations. Alternatively, one directable beam sound receiver may be used to scan the predetermined locations so that the sound feature signals therefrom are compared to sound features from a currently selected location.
