摘要： A liquid ejection head includes a member having ejection ports and dummy ejection ports. The ejection ports are provided in correspondence with energy-generating elements used in ejecting liquid. The dummy ejection ports are provided in correspondence with a light-receiving element outputting current whose level changes in accordance with the intensity of light applied thereto. By detecting the level of current that is output from the light-receiving element, the shapes of the ejection ports are estimated.

摘要： An ink jet recording head includes an ejection outlet for ejecting ink; an energy generating element, provided on a silicon substrate, for generating energy for ejecting the ink from the ejection outlet; an ink flow passage, provided correspondingly to the energy generating element, communicating with the ejection outlet; a through hole passing through the silicon substrate; and an ink supply port for supplying the ink supplied into the through hole to the ink flow passage. The ink supply port is formed with an extended member which contacts a bottom of a flow passage wall constituting the ink flow passage and extends into an opening of the through hole.

摘要： Problems, which occur when printing is performed on the surface of a rotating disk using by using a print head arranged in the outer circumferential direction from the center of rotation, are resolved. Light emitting sections performs exposure in synchronism with rotational driving for rotating a medium, and pixels which are adjacent in the circumferential direction of rotation are exposed in a partially superimposed fashion by making the amount of movement in the circumferential direction along which the outermost circumference of the medium moves between exposures smaller than the width in the circumferential direction of the pixels formed by exposure. In a plurality of light emitting sections provided in an optical unit, the quantity of light for exposing a pixel on the inner circumferential side in the radial direction is set to be smaller than the quantity of light for exposing a pixel on the outer circumferential side in the radial direction for the respective exposure positions for the medium. Therefore, difference in the tonal shading caused by superposition is reduced by lowering the density created by each exposure in respect of the pixels on the inner circumferential side in the radial direction where there is a large overlap between exposures.

摘要： A liquid ejection head and a method of forming the same. The liquid ejection head includes a substrate, an ejection port, a liquid channel, and a supply port. The substrate has, above one side thereof, an energy generating element configured to generate energy used to eject liquid. The ejection port, from which a liquid is ejected, is located at a position corresponding to the energy generating element. The liquid channel communicates with the ejection port and penetrates the substrate from the one side to another side of the substrate. The supply port communicates with the liquid channel. The substrate has a projecting layer extending inward of an inner peripheral portion of an opening in the supply port in the one side, and the projecting layer and the energy generating element are formed of the same material.

摘要： A printer prevents color smear when a paper roll mounted on the printer is initially fed. The printer includes a plurality of printing units each having a thermal head and an ink ribbon, and a platen roller having an outer surface opposite the plurality of printing units. The platen roller can be rotated by a stepping motor. A printing medium is arranged on a roll at the most upstream side of the delivery path. A printed result of a predetermined printing length is obtained by sequentially transferring an ink to the printing medium from the upstream to the downstream printing units in an overlapping manner. The electrification period of the thermal head in each printing unit is controlled on the basis of an amount of rotation of the platen roller.
