    • According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided with a radio receiver including: one or more antenna which receives radio signals; a plurality of filters which selectively output signals in respective reception bands from the radio signals received by the antenna, adjacent reception bands partially overlapping each other; a plurality of A/D converters disposed correspondingly to the filters to convert the signals output from the respective filters to digital signals; extracting units which extract signal components of a boundary radio signal spreading across at least two reception bands adjacent to each other from digital signals associated with the at least two reception bands adjacent to each other; a combining unit which combines the signal components extracted by the extracting units to restore the boundary radio signal; and a demodulation unit which demodulates the boundary radio signal restored by the combining unit.

    • In a manufacturing method of a semiconductor device, an insulating film is formed on a first conductive film. By using a mask film having an opening that exposes the insulating film, anisotropic etching is performed to form a recess is formed in an upper part of the insulating film exposed to the opening and to cause a reaction product to adhere to a lower part of a sidewall portion of the mask film. Isotropic etching is then performed to decrease the sidewall portion of the mask film in a horizontal direction, and anisotropic etching is performed to etch the insulating film exposed at a bottom of the recess in a vertical direction while removing the reaction product adhering to the lower part of the sidewall portion of the mask film. Anisotropic etching is then performed to etch the insulating film present around the recess in the vertical direction to form a stepped portion, and also to etch the insulating film exposed at the bottom of the recess to expose the first conductive film. A second conductive film is then formed on the first conductive film.

    • A driving device of the invention is mounted on a motor vehicle, where a sun gear, a carrier, and a ring gear of a planetary gear mechanism are respectively connected to a motor MG1, to an engine, and to a drive shaft and a motor MG2. The driving device has a power supply system including a capacitor, a transistor TR, and a diode DI. The capacitor is connected to power lines, which are shared by inverters for the motors MG1 and MG2 and are linked to a battery via a DC-DC converter. The transistor TR is located between the power lines and the capacitor and is arranged in a direction of charging the capacitor. The diode DI is arranged in an opposite direction in parallel with the transistor TR. Drive control of the transistor TR and the DC-DC converter converts an output voltage of the battery into a desired voltage level and outputs the converted voltage to the power lines, while adequately controlling charge and discharge of the capacitor. Adequate charge and discharge of the capacitor enables output of a preset power demand to the drive shaft and ensures the improved driving performance.
